A question for Bake Off lovers - who would you have chosen as a presenter

My family love GBBO and we’re a bit unsure about AH as the new replacement. We don’t know who we would have chosen though. Mel & Sue were our favourites, we liked Sandi as well.

Who would you have chosen?

Charlene white
brenda edwards
Judi love? Judi was great on the
teaching stand up show.

Aha! I know Judi Love and you're right - she would be absolutely BRILLIANT. Love Judi. She's really funny but quite laid back so I think she would suit GBBO.

I might be wrong but didn't Judi do really well on a cooking show or challenge on a TV show recently?? I'm racking my brains to remember what it was. I didn't watch it but I think I caught the end of something and saw it....

I don't know the other two names so I'm off to have a google. I only watch a handful of shows that I like (often comedy quiz shows and the occasional cooking show) so if the person hasn't been on one of those I'm clueless!

Can we confirm you mean Lorraine Pacale as a judge and not Lorraine Kelly Grin

Yes Lorraine pascal.

never Lorraine kelly- I cant bear her!

I think Alison Hammond is perfect 🥰

LittleFingerStrength · 17/03/2023 23:21

Alison is like the Princess of Wales the most inoffensive person going, really warm and natural (as I said before, she was on big brother for a very long time and that's her natural personality).

Spudlet · 17/03/2023 23:22

Judi Love was very funny on Taskmaster, I think she’d be great. I don’t know enough about Alison Hammond to judge, never really seen her on anything (I can’t be doing with morning TV!)

MuddyFeet01 · 17/03/2023 23:22

Yes Judi Love would be fab. She is an excellent cook too (celebrity masterchef.)

Rummikub · 17/03/2023 23:29

If jo brand decides to leave an extra slice then I think
judo love would be perfect for it.

I think pp saying Alison is too loud perhaps haven’t seen her recently. I think she is a good balance of warm, funny and interested.

I watched her in the first big brother and she went straight to presenting.

I'd love someone quite taciturn like Trevor McDonald to judge, the contrast would be entertaining I think.

Is that the only other black person you can think of 🤣 Trevor Macdonald is 83.

Rummikub · 17/03/2023 23:29

Judi!
silly autocorrect

Mistressofnone · 17/03/2023 23:30

Alison is a great choic! Such an infectious laugh. Aisling Bea was my favourite celeb contestant but Hollywood beckons for her.

Seasidemumma77 · 17/03/2023 23:31

Claudia Winkleman

Slimjimtobe · 17/03/2023 23:31

I really really love Alison and have done since the Big Bro days

she will be amazing - she has a kind nature and lovely personality !!! Delighted for her

jays · 17/03/2023 23:33

Rylan… he was brilliant on Masterchef. I love him!

ninetieseyebrows · 17/03/2023 23:58

James Acaster or Lisa Tarbuck
But Alison Hammond is a fine choice - love her

fizzykoalablanket · 18/03/2023 00:09

Rylan, Dawn French, anyone but Allison Hammond really.
TV goes off in our house whenever she appears.

What's wrong with Trevor, he's my favourite and a national treasure! 😂

fizzykoalablanket · 18/03/2023 00:13

Have just seen a previous poster recommend Trevor McDonald, he gets my vote. Fabulous!

clpsmum · 18/03/2023 00:18

I would've chosen Liza tarbuck

clpsmum · 18/03/2023 00:20

RoysSisterShireeSauce · 17/03/2023 21:36

I think Andi Oliver would have been brilliant

Oh what a great suggestion so do I

Alwaysoneoddsock · 18/03/2023 00:29

I love Alison and I think she’ll be great with Noel.

Fluffymule · 18/03/2023 00:40

I'm sure Alison will be great. She's warm, engaging, and down to earth.

If it wasn't already Alison then I too would like to see Liza Tarbuck in one of the presenter roles. She's has the same warm and engaging personality that Alison has, but perhaps a slightly drier comedic style, which would be fun.

Gooseysgirl · 18/03/2023 00:54

I think Alison is a great choice! I could be tempted to watch it again, but I am not a fan of Prue at all, and Paul makes my skin crawl... I just about tolerated him in the olden days when it was on BBC. Stopped watching when it moved to C4 and Mary, Mel & Sue left.

Good call on Judi. She's still got a big personality but IMO she's dialled down a crucial half a notch from Alison, which would make her a better fit for Bake Off. But she's not famous enough I suspect.

I love Alison, but she needs the right vehicle and I'm a bit concerned that she will be too much for Bake-off.

AJ would have been good too, since they've decided not to cast a comedian.

If we were going for an open casting I think Lisa Tarbuck would be perfect.

ChickenMaths · 18/03/2023 02:55

Happy with Alison Hammond but can we replace Paul Hollywood but James Martin please?
