For me it's Celine Dion - Think Twice. Don't know what it is about that song but even as a fairly young child it always got me!

Blue ridge Mountain Song

It's about a young couple that meet, fall in love, get married,.set up house, spend their nights sitting on their porch..
then she takes ill and dies and leaves him alone.

One part of the lyrics goes:

They couldn't tell him what was wrong
But they just didn't know
It wasn't very long 'til Jesus called her home
And he got down on his knees
Said, "God, don't take my love from me"

Gets me everytime, it's so beautiful.

Dance with my father Luther vandross

Toms Diner Suzanne Vega only because I was so young when it came out an ex loved it and now I'm 50 and a responsible grown up it's just oh! I play it loud when my kids aren't home

Pointless - Lewis Capaldi because everything does seem pointless without DH, I go through the motions of living but my heart's not in it.

1000 Years - Christina Perri because it brings back wonderful memories of our wedding day in May 21.

I rarely cry to music, but the songs popular in my childhood, i.e. that my parents played during the time when we were all a family, make me so damn melancholic that i can't bear it.

I'm sorry @bloodywhitecat 😢

Blur- no distance left to run. It's a pure heartbreak song and reminds me of some dark times in the past.

A thousand years. My sister died when her baby was 4 months old and she used to sing this too him 😢

Well James Blunt has just come up on my TikTok singing Monsters.

I've absolutely cried my eyes out and I'm not really a weeper. My dad is still healthy and well thank goodness but this song just destroyed me. I could cry now, just thinking about it. The video is so powerful.

New song by Freya Ridings 'Face in the crowd ' got me earlier

ScottBakula · 22/02/2023 21:51

I agree with Dance With My Father, it's a very touching song .

Terry Jack's Season in the sun gets me as itcwas in the charts when a school friend was killed by a hit and run driver outside our primary school .
I dudnt make the connection when I was a kid but I heard it on the radio many years later and the memory of the accident and the school assembly the day after came flooding back out of no where .

Beautiful song. Aww so sorry to hear that. That made me well up.
It was actually listening to music with my 8 month old that got me thinking about this.
