For me it's Celine Dion - Think Twice. Don't know what it is about that song but even as a fairly young child it always got me!

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee
Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal Puff
And brought him strings, and sealing wax, and other fancy stuff
Oh, Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist, in a land called Honah Lee
Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist, in a land called Honah Lee
Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail
Jackie kept a lookout perched on Puff's gigantic tail
Noble kings and princes would bow whenever they came
Pirate ships would lower their flags when Puff roared out his name
Oh, Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist, in a land called Honah Lee
Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist, in a land called Honah Lee
A dragon lives forever, but not so little boys
Painted wings and giant's rings make way for other toys
One gray night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more
And Puff, that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar
His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane
Without his lifelong friend, Puff could not be brave
So Puff, that mighty dragon, sadly slipped into his cave
Oh, Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist, in a land called Honah Lee
Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist, in a land called Honah Lee

Another vote for slipping through my fingers, abba😭
Also the greatest discovery by Elton John, although probably little known, its about a little boy meeting his brand new baby brother.......think I heard it about the time I had my second son so poignant and beautiful.

MintsPi · 22/02/2023 22:59

When She Loved Me from Toy Story 2.

Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 22/02/2023 23:02

November Rain by Guns and Roses. I never really liked any of their music, but then DH insisted I listened (it's in his Will to be played at his funeral I now know) and oh my it's beautiful.

aSofaNearYou · 22/02/2023 23:08

Ronan by Taylor Swift, about a little boy who died of cancer, from his mum's words. Can't ever get through it.

Sam, by Olivia Newton John.

MissMarplesNiece · 22/02/2023 23:10

Who knows where the time goes - Sandy Denny. The aria E lucevan le Stelle from Tosca

mrstea301 · 22/02/2023 23:11

You'll never walk alone - Gerry and the pacemakers. I'm not a massive football fan but this always makes me want to cry when I hear it. Also crops up at a lot of funerals.

Sunshine on Leith by the Proclaimers - again, not a huge football fan but I think there's something about hearing a stadium full of people singing 🥲

Lilbunnyfufu · 22/02/2023 23:11

To many songs make me cry my list would be massive in YouTube I have a so many songs make me cry here are a few of them
Lionel Richie and Diana Ross: endless love
2pac: letter to my unborn child
Dj Sammy: heaven
Aerosmith: I don't want to miss a thing
Boys 2 men: end of the road
Ghost: by your side and when I see you smile
Phil Colins: groovy kind of love
Leanne rimes: how do I live
Boyzone tomorrow never comes. I was visiting my great uncle in hospital and he said tomorrow never comes and it didn't for him these words will forever haunt me he knew he wouldn't make it to the next day.

Was going to say this too. His Mum is credited as a co-writer of the song. I think I read that she said to him as he was dying that he should close his eyes because they were going to go flying together that night. Heartbreaking.

Regarding the YNWA, is it Liverpool or Celtic fans you think of?

Also Donny Hathaway A Song For You, I don’t play it very often, makes me sob every time.
