We all know the Abba party was totally against any rules. Kate Forbes to me represents the SNP when no one would vote for them back before Salmond. In general, they are now a socialist party but they used to be very conservative.

Val McDermid wrote an interesting article in the ST about her friendship with Sturgeon and how she made her feel like she was welcome as a gay woman in Scotland. It's an enigma of a country in so many ways! Very left leaning, votes wise but a hotbed of some very reactionary views. I blame the Wee Frees.

On the face of it , though, the people who are uncomfortable with the GRA will think Forbes is a great choice. Not sure how that will unite.
