Why is my friend trying to make out I'm crazy?

My friends boyfriend set me up with his friend.
The 4 of us went out twice and me and the guy hit it off.
He made it clear he wanted to spend time with me.
We went to a outdoor gig and it was cold but really fun.
Then it all got weird ...
He said he was going to get a drink and my friend said "oh she will hate you leaving her on her own,she will go crazy in a minute"
So he asks me "if I minded"
I told him of course not

Then my friend pipes up laughing
"She was asking if you were talking to any other women -she was so jealous when you mentioned your female friend"
"Crazy lucy came out to play"

It was normal chit chat like you do with your friends.
Then later she was back again with her "oh feb real Lucy will be out soon-your a bit stalkery aren't you"
So I snapped "what are you talking about"
She giggled "see this is the crazy coming out and laughed"

So we all went back to his and when they went to bed I said to him
"Maybe next time we leave her at home and just go out the both of us"
He looked confused and said "are you a bit crazy like she was saying? "
I said "I don't know what her issue is "

He has been a bit off with me since
Have I blown it?
Why did she do this ?
I feel like crying

Hi Op

You really need to dump your friend,

She is Jealous as hell
An can hardly disguise 🥸 it, its just simmering bubbling under the surface isn't it

She. Would be no loss

Start new year
Ditch her and make better healthier friendships in future

I think me trying to prove I'm not crazy has actually made me look crazy
He showed me a text off her saying
"Hope you have a good date with the psycho if you choose to go out with her again "

I pulled her up on it and she said "all in jest "

She is nasty. Really nasty. She clearly fancies this guy and wanted to destroy you in front of him. Suggest you go out just the two of you. Be upfront with him and say I think my friend is a bit jealous, but if you want to find out the real me please come for a drink.
then do not message him again. Or her. The friendship should be over after that.

I would cut contact with him, send a message like “I think it’s time we stopped messaging. You are clearly too afraid of {shit friends name} to have a relationship with me, although clearly if she did approve you would. I think you need to work on why you are so scared of {shit friend} and seek her approval, but I’m not interested in hanging around waiting. Good luck.”

then block on everything.

you then need to work on why you accepted this scraps of his time like you were the OW.

Don't send any messages. All the people suggesting you keep trying to work on things with him, or make a comment to or about the friend are just stirring up drama.

You just silently block them all - for good - and don't let it take up space in your brain.

That's how you move on maturely. No parting shots or stirring it up.

100%

None of them are worth fighting for, or worth your time. Take a massive step back. You are worth more, you are too good for all of them.
