@RunningKatie if it’s passport renewals you’re doing it was super easy when I did them for me and DD a couple of months ago. Much easier online than paper forms.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 15/08/2023 22:18

Nothing to report here as it is just too warm to be motivated at 30c. Two closets look great and two are very sad and shabby. 🙁
Glad to see everyone else's achievements, though. 🤩

SummerLobelia · 16/08/2023 09:04

Morning! I am reading but have nothing if excitement to post. ! Trying to stay off MN and social media generally in favour of Doing Stuff in the house and garden!

SummerLobelia · 16/08/2023 09:11

Nothing of excitement that was!!

I am impressed by all the achievements on the thread though!

Peridot1 · 16/08/2023 09:32

Morning all

I didn’t get all my jobs done yesterday but I did tackle DS’s t-shirts.

Today:

  • Get house tidy for cleaners
  • wash floor mats in utility room (done!)
  • run washing machine clean programme (on)
  • strip last spare bed
  • put washing away
  • book car, hotel and flights
  • take DH’s watch for repair
  • make green soup (courgette glut!)

have a great day all.

RunningKatie · 16/08/2023 10:04

Thanks @petalpower - at least my passport should be straightforward, the dc need their first passport so I need to send away all birth certificates etc. I always feel nervous doing that!

Been feeling overwhelmed with lists recently so today I've rewritten it into urgent & important, important, unimportant and just irritating! Then highlighted the ones dh can help with easily.

Today I'm going to label new school water bottles and pay for tennis coaching - both important!

Aria999 · 16/08/2023 13:09

This for DD3's room (and rearranging the room to fit it in) was yesterday's joint project with DH. Next step, big girl bed!

Daily Project Round 3
SummerLobelia · 16/08/2023 14:40

Oh that looks great!!

petalpower · 16/08/2023 14:58

That looks lovely @Aria999 !

Mumtobabyhavoc · 16/08/2023 16:21

Aria, big kid bed is a huge step! Yea! I bought Havoc a twin size in January and skipped the toddler bed stage since Havoc was already used to co-sleeping in a regular bed. Frankly, I was also thinking it's one less thing to get rid of and replace...
Have got laundry on and will be heading to paint store later to continue with my refurbishment project.

Peridot1 · 16/08/2023 18:02

That looks great @Aria999.

ThunderclapCloud · 16/08/2023 20:32

I love that @Aria999 I'm also trying to Do stuff like @LateSummerLobelia
I have made soup and cleaned fridge. Really need to tackle some sudden extra growth in the garden before it becomes a jungle.
Long work day tonight then couple of days off so hope it doesn't get as hot as the forecasts say!

LateSummerLobelia · 17/08/2023 07:17

Morning all.

Not much news here. DH's birthday this week. A number of his friends are in town also on a sort of jolly so we have been more social than usual. Our wonderful cleaner is here this morning which means I plan to spend as much of the day I can sorting out what needs to be bought for the new school year. DS1 goes on a residential from the second day of term and I am hoping they send a kit list before then because they are sure to require something I need to shop for!!

best wishes to everyone. Thanks

RunningKatie · 17/08/2023 09:19

Looks lovely @Aria999 - I can barely get into my dc's rooms. We're at the stage where any request for tidying is met with huge sighs. Such a delight.

Cinema tonight after work so aiming for a small task today. Got to ring garage to confirm we're ok to fetch my new car tomorrow, my little car is all emptied and ready to go. I feel such a traitor.

Aria999 · 17/08/2023 20:08

Yes, DS7's room is a different ball game @RunningKatie ! How old are your DC?

SummerLobelia · 18/08/2023 07:08

It's absolutely pouring in my part of the world!

Funny old day today and I doubt I will get anything productive done.

I have an appointment at 10 and appointment at noon and an appointment at 3 pm. The DH was prevailed upon to do a favour for a friend which will take the entire day (and will be outside) so i am not quite sure how I can coordinate DCs. I am hoping for a text that at least one or the other (or ALL) various commitments will be cancelled!

But I have started talking to the travel agent about next year's summer holiday (hoping to book early this year rather than 6 weeks before flight).

Hope everyone has a good day!

Peridot1 · 18/08/2023 08:54

It’s pouring down here too @SummerLobelia. Utterly depressing. Hope your day gets sorted so it’s all manageable.

Yesterday I planned a charity shop drop off and supermarket shop. All good until I got to supermarket and realised I hadn’t taken the charity shop stuff. Brain not in gear!

I did go via our local leisure centre and joined having being saying I would for months. So new me programme starts Monday.

Today’s list :

  • fold DS’s washing from yesterday ready for him to pack for his holiday
  • make up spare bed for his friend staying tonight
  • book hire car and taxi
  • take DH’s watch for repair
  • laundry
  • Vacuum
  • pick blackberries if the rain ever stops
  • make soup

Have a great day all.

ThunderclapCloud · 18/08/2023 14:32

Not rained much here yet but the forecast has changed from heatwave to storms and a lot of rain.

I am new me-ing too @Peridot1 but not joined a gym. Have signed up for badminton lessons! I am reading a book about making little changes - it's called Just One Thing.

Today i have washed shower curtain, cleaned bath and changed bedding. Also took the sandwich toaster off the top of my fridge, and cleaned fridge top and toaster.

I may take a trip to the tip as well.

What else.... 🤔

I know! Some menu planning and batch cooking.

Brb. Have a lovely day everyone xx

Mumtobabyhavoc · 19/08/2023 04:58

Very productive everyone! 😃
It's been quite warm here, so didn't get back to painting until... today. Two coats of paint for hall closet done and unintended paint streak on front of door. Ugh. Will serape off tomorrow. A flat edge usually does the trick.
Just need to go over edges, joins and narrow areas with brush and hoping I won't need to re-roller anything so that I can move on. Oh, and paint the shelf. Again- Ugh.

SummerLobelia · 19/08/2023 06:20

Morning all!

Productive days - AND for personal fitness goals as well! I joined a gym a few months back and have been 5 times.... so I will happily join in the Daily Projecteers Operation New Me and will kick my butt back there.

I woke up after having a dream that our house looked like it did when DH bought it 40 years ago and I was panicking about how to steam wallpaper off. Grin

This weekend my aim is to do the general maintenance housekeeping wise but to also do some maintenance work in the garden as I am getting a garden bed dug over and replanted.

I also need to update my CV this weekend as I am looking to take a new direction. Then there is swimming lessons and all the usual family stuff. It's quite a busy weekend so I am trying to limit social media Blush and get really stuck in.

Hope everyone has a truly lovely day!!

Peridot1 · 19/08/2023 08:29

Morning all.

Grey day here. Again.

I spent yesterday afternoon ‘on call’ as fashion consultant/packing consultant/shirt folder for DS. He is currently on a flight to Croatia.

Didn’t get all my jobs done yesterday. As is pretty normal. I did pick a load of blackberries and they are washed and in the freezer. Still loads more on the brambles that are coming through to our garden from the wilderness next door.

Today’s jobs:

  • strip spare bed and wash bedding
  • tidy kitchen and vacuum
  • take DH’s watch for repair
  • towel wash
  • do on line gym induction

Will also try not to spend too much time on MN. I waste a lot of time on here!

Have a great Saturday everyone

RunningKatie · 19/08/2023 11:07

I also need to join Operation New Me, just been and ordered some reading specs. I declined the varifocal suggestion! I need to start exercising again, swimming booked for Monday as a start.
@Aria999 - mine are 10 & 12, super close buddies most of the time. But the teen years are looming so it could go wrong yet!
Off family visiting this pm, the sun is shining so lots of washing going out - hoping it stays dry for a while.

ThunderclapCloud · 19/08/2023 11:43

Morning! We had a storm last night but sunshine today. My kitchen is looking beautiful and I cleaned out the fridge so am feeling very pleased with myself. DH went grocery shopping with a list of things not to buy. New stuff is away and all in the proper place in the fridge, and there's a pile of vaguely wilted veg in the counter top waiting to become smug soup. Also retrieved a packet of frozen diced beef which is dated November last year, which is to be a casserole.

I too need a trip to the optician as I only have one pair of specs ( varifocals) and I ought to have a spare really.

I came across a very straightforward tai chi series on you tube, and plan to do 5 mins every morning. Spent a little time learning the moves this morning. It's this lady if anyone is interested.

Good luck with all your projects today everyone xx

Before you continue to YouTube

https://youtube.com/@Taiflow

SummerLobelia · 20/08/2023 07:15

Thanks for posting the Tai Chi link @ThunderclapCloud . I am very interested!

Today my project is to go and buy more plant food at B&Q to feed my various pots. I also need to weed them.

Hope everyone has a great day!

ThunderclapCloud · 20/08/2023 07:55

Morning! I hope you like the tai chi videos @LateSummerLobelia I'd love to know how you get on. I started today with a few stretches/back exercise that my chiropractor gave me years ago (post falling off a horse and not bouncing) I do them on and off but they only take a few minutes. Followed up today with a bit of tai chi and I'm feeling all energised and relaxed
I had a bit of a wake up call yesterday when my mum spoke about my brother who is only 2 years older than me playing cricket for first time in ages. She said he'd be walking the runs. I asked if he'd injured himself and she just said no, just because of his age. He's active in his job but doesn't exercise as such I don't think. So I thought I've probably got to the age where if I don't use it I'll lose it! I do generally have a little run every day but where nobody can see me at the yard when I take a horse to the field -and about 20 yards max! Can just see myself increasing it and putting my back out or twisting an ankle running in boots 🙈 Didn't dare mention the badminton lessons to mother. She'd be horrified! First lesson is this week.
