Oh god this is awful

rainbowstardrops · 28/02/2023 06:40

Apparently they were found and arrested in Brighton but sadly without the baby.
I live fairly close and our regional radio station said that police are scouring a golf course and allotments close to where they were found.
A police update is due soon they've just said 😔

rainbowstardrops · 28/02/2023 06:47

The reporter on the radio station has just said the police are scouring a 10 mile area from Brighton to Newhaven. That's where they were thought to have camped previously.

Whowhatwherewhenwhynow · 28/02/2023 07:01

I really hope the baby is with Someone safe. Horrible to think the baby could be left somewhere.

MeinKraft · 28/02/2023 07:06

Devastating news Sad

Andypandy799 · 28/02/2023 07:16

Well to all those pp who thought ss are bastards this is why they exist. Time to hang your head in shame 🤬

TokyoSushi · 28/02/2023 07:17

Oh my goodness. Like you all, I've been following since the start. It literally never occurred to me that they'd be found without the baby, what a concerning update...

HaroldeVwilliam · 28/02/2023 07:20

Very sad. I too deeply hope they have left the baby with someone to hide.. However as pp said there were reasons why they were frantically looking for them.

picklemewalnuts · 28/02/2023 07:21

What information do you need to register a baby? If they had given the baby to someone to raise, could they register it as though they'd given birth to it?

Clutching at straws I know.

OneFrenchEgg · 28/02/2023 07:23

I feel weirdly conflicted. I think it's because all the messaging was clearly false and there was no concern for anyone except the baby, and no scenario they could have kept him. I don't know why I feel like this, I'm very aware of child protection concerns and unsafe parenting.

I can’t quite remember, but think you need evidence from the hospital or midwife to identify you as the mother of the child plus photo ID in which to cross-reference.

EasterIssland · 28/02/2023 08:06

Thought they’d be out of the country

hopw the baby is somewhere safe

TokyoSushi · 28/02/2023 08:08

The police update seems to be suggesting that they're not giving any information as to where the baby is.

SpinningFloppa · 28/02/2023 08:15

Omg I honestly thought they were long gone! (I didn’t need photo Id to register my children) this is very concerning tbh in the latest cctv we were shown of them I remember both times thinking it didn’t look like the baby was with them, people kept saying under her coat but it really didn’t look that way 😔

PritiPatelsMaker · 28/02/2023 08:19

I'm probably very naive but it never occurred to me that they'd be found without the baby either.

It's just said on the news that the Police have been using sniffer dogs and heat seeking cameras overnight.

If they haven't found the baby using those, I fear the worst.

I don't remember showing photo.I D,when I registered my babies ,but I could register them at the hospital.I gave birth in and also I had all.my midwife ,note,s, etc.

Well, they certainly can be and do make mistakes - both from inaction and in appropriate removals. In this case though, they were absolutely right to pursue them. Really hoping baby is found safe.

Exactly. And even though people knew the parents history, they still evidently from this thread, had no clue the couple maybe found without the baby 🤦🏻‍♀️

freezingpompoms · 28/02/2023 09:30

It tells us everything about the couple that they haven't immediately said where the baby is. The games up for gods sake. You are in custody, the least you can do is say where the baby is.

Sadly I'd imagine the baby is dead, maybe some weeks now, and they have concealed the body.

They know they will get a big sentence for this. It may be that there will be evidence of neglect that they are hoping can be concealed too.

I had thought disappearing with the baby was their way of keeping it with them for as long as they could

Fedupnowhadenough · 28/02/2023 11:53

I’m hoping that someone has it and it’s safe! How awful I really hope he’s ok

ElephantInTheKitchen · 28/02/2023 12:38

MN seem to have nuked the other threads on CM because it's an active police investigation.

It's been an active police investigation all this time so fuck knows why they've chosen now to delete entire threads Hmm

freezingpompoms · 28/02/2023 12:41

We have to try not speculate too much then as I don't think MN likes that

hotpotlover · 28/02/2023 12:42

They probably left the baby with someone else as it wouldn't be safe for the baby to sleep in the woods
