Surely London is one of the hardest places to stay hidden with its network of cctv?

I'd have thought it's actually easier - huge population compared with other places. Very many people go to London precisely to disappear.

liveforsummer · 14/01/2023 10:40

Lots of CCTV still requires people to know when and where to look - you can use it to confirm a reported sighting, or find evidence of a street brawl, but you can't have officers watching every bit of London CCTV

No they can't but they have recent exact location sightings and a lot of police power has so far gone in to this for whatever reason. Still unknown to us. DSI in charge of the case, visiting every single hotel and b&b in the Colchester area in case they might have been there. It's also interesting that the police have stated they do not know why the couple might wish to evade detection. Most of the theory's on here would suggest they know fine, which obviously they won't tell the public but to actually state they have no idea ...
I wonder how they know the baby is a boy.
I wonder why they are only appealing to CM. No attempt to appeal to MG at all. Very strange indeed

The photo in the criminal link is dated 2010. It’s possible that it’s him. This is what he looks like in the recently released photos.

Side by side they don't look the same, even allowing for age.

Lips nose and eyebrows look the same given the 12/13 year difference. The hair line is of course different and the face in the second photo has his face tilted back slightly.

I wouldn’t say it’s 100% him but certainly a close match.

Oh I don't see that at all, I think he looks very different but good point about the angle.

This is the Facebook post where I first saw this link to the Florida jail. If you Google constance marten it’s in the comment of the first post that come up.

Can't really see the resemblance.

Can't really see the resemblance.

He’s almost certainly the same man. Virtually identical.

I mean I guess it could be given a time lapse etc but your interpretation of identical is very different to mine

kittykutty · 14/01/2023 14:04

Would not be surprised if it is the same man, there is some resemblance and also very coincidental re. Name and birth date.

However, wouldn't say identical from those two pictures

Tamarindtree · 14/01/2023 14:13

Gap between nose and lip is the same.

One side of top lip slightly raised in both photos.

Neat ears close to side of head in both photos.

Eyebrow shape allowing for 12/13 years having passed look very similar.

The younger photo is not as high definition as the later one and as I previously mentioned his head is tilted back slightly in the newer one.

No obvious moles or scars in either.

There are enough similarities to consider him as being the same man but I wouldn’t say 100% for sure.

OneFrenchEgg · 14/01/2023 16:21

Ok so i am bored enough to put them side by side

Looks the same to me considering the time difference

OneFrenchEgg · 14/01/2023 16:23

I just hope that it's something like a pre-existing medical condition that needs checking rather than any of them being at risk from each other. I do feel for anyone who feels they have to flee rather than face whatever is happening.

I missed the cheekbones, they appear to match in the photos too.

The Times has published an article this evening about Constance and the way her life has changed. It says in it that Mark Gordon lived in Florida until 2010 when he returned to the UK which aligns with that photo.

I knew it. Looks like a dodgy and nasty piece of work. That poor baby.

Some of the wording sounded like they knew there would be medical checks needed rather than just general concern - drug withdrawal maybe?

Do you have a link to the article please?

I didn’t put it in initially because I wasn’t sure what the rules were about sharing links but I think it’s fine in this context?

It sounds like their life has been quite chaotic recently; they were evicted from their last house which had fire damage and was in a really bad state. I wonder if whatever caused that situation to develop is why the police are worried for the baby’s safety? Especially if there is a history of criminal offending as well.

PritiPatelsMaker · 14/01/2023 22:54

It's behind a paywall Sad

Does this work? I saw this link on another forum and it’s to the archive today so it removes the paywall archive.ph/BD933

Diynoidea · 14/01/2023 23:37

That works thank you @rrrrrreatt

What an awful story, I hope she is able to see that seeking help is in the best interests of her child

PritiPatelsMaker · 14/01/2023 23:54

Thank you @rrrrrreatt, yes it does work Wink
