Does this work? I saw this link on another forum and it’s to the archive today so it removes the paywall archive.ph/BD933

Thanks for the link, sounds very odd to me

Hooliee · 15/01/2023 09:11

From the information shared it sounds like he is a violent sex offender who has cut her off from her family and friends. They have several children who don’t live with them and it sounds like there may be drugs involved as they were so reclusive and trashed their houses.

Maybe they owe money to dealers? It doesn’t sound like she has access to a huge amount of funds considering how they lived and the fact she did odd jobs.

Firecarrier · 15/01/2023 09:21

It is an odd story. The article says she had access to a huge trust fund - and the police are saying similar now, but if that were the case, why would they not just pay the rent? If for no other reason than to keep a low profile.

I know nothing about trust funds (unfortunately!) is anyone else in charge of them once the recipient has come of age? I was wondering if family could have cut her off/restricted access due to her lifestyle....

She’s nc with her family. So while, when it comes to inheritance, she may still be in the will, she doesn’t currently have access to any family money.

The article failed to mention that she has other children but I’m even more certain now that the man in the photo from Florida prison is him. Why do these women choose these violent deadbeat men over their kids? I wonder is she is a drug addict in which case her baby will be withdrawing and need close medical supervision.

She has 3 other children. They’re not in her care.

SpinningFloppa · 15/01/2023 09:56

There has got to be more to it than just an abusive relationship, as I don’t understand why a woman would choose a violent man over her own children so I’m guessing drugs/ MH problems, she would have been given chances by ss.

kittykutty · 15/01/2023 10:00

That article was just sad to read.

I'd agree that the relationship is very unhealthy to stay together after children were supposedly removed. At that point, she should have been furious and wanted a new life, at a point where she knows she can never have a family with this guy.

NeedToChangeName · 17/01/2023 11:38

@SpinningFloppa domestic abuse is often complex. And, it's generally more accurate to blame the abusive man who targets his female victim, rather than blaming the female victim for "choosing" a violent man. No woman chooses to be abused

SpinningFloppa · 17/01/2023 12:26

I’m not the only one that’s questioned it so don’t know why you’ve only tagged me but yes I do judge women that choose men over their kids, ss would have given her many chances to leave.

I agree. Poor kids in care and another baby being dragged into this mess by a stupid, selfish mother.

OneFrenchEgg · 18/01/2023 17:25

Gosh, pp were right. I would never have guessed they were the same person.

Badger1970 · 18/01/2023 17:32

Sadly there was always going to be something serious behind this.

Those poor kids.

searchingforme · 18/01/2023 19:21

I knew it was him as soon as I saw the Florida prison page. Wow he committed that crime when he was only 14! Insane I hope this woman comes to her senses and finds a way out of this! She’s already lost 3 children presumably because of him wake up woman!

hotpotlover · 18/01/2023 19:40

I know social services won't see it that way, but maybe he's done his time in prison and is a reformed person now?

Don't we always say people deserve a second chance?

He was awfully young when he went to prison (15?), still a child. So maybe he matured in prison and became a better person.

Getinajollymood · 18/01/2023 19:46

It is a bit … not sure of the word … that someone so young would potentially never be allowed custody of their own child.

Rape is a horrendous crime of course but so is murder: would James Bulger’s killers be allowed to parent? And Mary bell had a daughter, did she not?

SpinningFloppa · 18/01/2023 19:55

I thought it was just me but didn't want to be the one to say it, this all seems very heavy handed for a crime committed by a child 30 years ago? I agree that it's an awful thing but does that mean over 30 years later his children are taken off him? He wouldn't have gone to prison for anywhere near that time of it happened here it's very bizarre (and not I'm not defending him im just confused by it)

OneFrenchEgg · 18/01/2023 19:56

I do wonder if there is also a medical issue for the baby that maybe is hereditary or genetic because it seems weird to refer to checking the baby over. If they do have other children that don't live with them it's just a very sad situation.

purplejungle · 18/01/2023 20:00

Haven't read the full thread but definitely more to this than is being released. Lots of registered sex offenders have their children in their care (with social services' full knowledge) so suspect it isn't 'just' that he is a registered sex offender, but rather that it has been assessed that he poses a high risk to this child. Given they have been together for many years seems likely there are other older children who have been removed.

He will have been given a chance; the children seen on her Facebook profile are well beyond newborn stage and look like they're various ages up to toddlers. If they were being removed purely because of his criminal history, they'd have been removed at birth.

Almost certainly there were very real issues that caused the older children to be removed. For instance, they may have been witnessing domestic violence, and she's refused to leave him and safeguard the children from him. Nothing has changed since then, hence a possible plan for this baby to be removed at birth, hence going on the run.

Tamarindtree · 18/01/2023 20:02

He spent 24 years in prison!

That alone would fuck a person up.

Getinajollymood · 18/01/2023 20:03

Blimey, for the crime he committed at 14?

Proper order. He’s undoubtedly a nasty piece of work.
