From what I've seen of Mumsnet literary mentions, authors who clearly haven't been anywhere near it assume it's some kind of extension of Facebook. Lazy, lazy writing as even a day spent lurking would give them a flavour of the site.

The ones who actually do their research go on just for a day, get sucked in and have no more time to actually write their books. 12 months later their agent is on the gin and the writers are writing epic responses on the feminism and relationships threads
