What proportion of men who identify as women do you think have had an operation to remove their male genitals?

Given that any man who identifies as a woman may legally be treated as a woman, join women’s sports, be housed in women's prisons, be in a women’s rape crisis centre, or be on a women’s hospital ward,

I am interested to know what other women reading here think about this question.

The reason for asking here, not on the Feminism and Women’s Rights/Gender board, Mumsnet HQ, is to find out what people think more generally. Please do not move it.

I am asking this out of interest in the wake of the Gender Recognition Reform Bill which has just been passed by Scottish Parliament.

The GRR only requires 'living as the desired gender' but nobody can say what that means, other than maybe having your new name on a gas bill.

Very few I reckon. That's why I don't believe those who claim they "feel" like a woman when they want to keep their intact fully functioning penis.

Most of it has nothing to do with gender identity and everything to do with an inability to present as the feminine of the species without eroding the 'facts of life', just to keep face because the masculine of the species do not make space for them and refuse to accept males who prefer the feminine. Same for transmen.

In answer to the original question, clearly the proportion should be 100% as this should be a pre-requisite to “being a woman”.

Anything prior to this is the ‘working towards transition’ phase.

Transgender women report bottom surgery at rates between 5–13% currently. Even more transgender women desire bottom surgery in the future: between 45–54%.

It was 8% but that was a stat I read years and years ago. The new group of Trans-women seem to be mostly straight men in 'sexy' women's clothes who have no surgery, take no hormones but spend time on line persuading teenage girls with ASD to have radical surgery and take hormones. After much reading I now believe the later group are being sacrificed to justify the firsts acting out a sexual fetish in public. Tragic.

Well IMO nobody with a penis should be able to identify as a woman, women don't have them...nothing with a penis should be imprisoned in a woman's prison (not including the staff) or on a women's hospital ward (not including staff) it seems common sense if you want to be a woman, crack on and get the chop chop
