JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 18/12/2022 16:27

Are you joking? In a week’s time it will be Christmas Day - Christmas will barely have started!

TwoRockSalmonAndAHaporthOfChips · 18/12/2022 16:28

Christmas isn’t over on Christmas day! The Twelve Days only start then, and go on till Twelfth Night. Plan something festive, or at least out of the ordinary, for each of the days until you go back to work. It’s only over if you make it so.

Icantremembermyusername · 18/12/2022 16:29

Christmas won't be over for me in a week! I love the week after Christmas - relaxing, eating wierd combos, catching up with folks.

WeDontNeedToTalkAboutJamie · 18/12/2022 16:29

Christmas hasn't even started. We don't have a tree up yet!

FOTTFSOFTFOASM · 18/12/2022 16:29

I can't wait for it to be over. I'm one of the odd people who likes January. It's the start of spring for me.

CharityShopChic · 18/12/2022 16:30

Be prepared for all the people who think Christmas only starts on 25th, and who keep partying until 6th January.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, most of us are sick to the back teeth of Christmas by this point in December as it started around 6th November and has been full on for the last three weeks.

Mimilamore · 18/12/2022 16:31

Nope, love it when it's over, no pressure, no more spending out, still got some nice food left... it's all an illusion, kching , kching...

NibbledSwitch · 18/12/2022 16:31

No...
1st Jan is my favourite day...358 days before the whole bullshit of Christmas and New year begins again 😄

ssd · 18/12/2022 16:32

I love this bit before xmas. I'm on the couch with prosecco, crisps and mince pies. Under a fleecy blanket. Cold and wet out. I'm staying in.

Funkyslippers · 18/12/2022 16:34

Well it won't be over, even if you don't count the 12 days of Christmas afterwards. It will be Christmas day afternoon so still several hours left of the day. I'm a live in the moment person, I don't really have to have something to look forward to, I just take it day by day therefore not disappointed when something is over

WhenAllTheCowsAreSleeping · 18/12/2022 16:38

cannot wait for it all to be over

Doughnuts68 · 18/12/2022 16:40

Charityshop- that’s what it seems like every year that Xmas is over at the end of the 25th

Christmas starts in a week.

AclowncalledAlice · 18/12/2022 16:41

My Christmas won't have even started in a week let alone finished. "Christmas" is 2nd January as that's when DD will be staying for a few days. Next weekend will be considered a normal bank holiday in our house.

Unifolorn · 18/12/2022 16:43

I don't know, I'm off in the period between Christmas day and new years eve so I am actually excited for Christmas day to be over as this never happens! I am looking forward to the end of this year though and for the days to (slowly) get longer as we head towards spring.

NoelNoNoel · 18/12/2022 16:44

It’s starts for me on Christmas Eve and ends on 3rd. I have back to back activities/socials each day (except 29th) and then am going to a European city for New Year.

Inextremis · 18/12/2022 16:44

This is the best part of Christmas - the build-up to The Day and The Day After. I'm having a lovely time - this year I told myself that there was no point saving all the good stuff for the week after Christmas, when I usually end up feeling stuffed and incapable of facing yet another alcoholic drink. So, I'm enjoying a sherry right now, having a couple of friends round to eat paté and other nibbles on Tuesday, and I've broken into the Turkish Delight and am having a few pieces every evening. It's all lovely! The anticipation is so much better than the main event!

WaddleAway · 18/12/2022 16:45

It’s a bit of a weird way to see things. If you go on holiday for a week are you sad on the day you go that’ll it’ll all be over in 7 days time?

Muddlingthroughthis · 18/12/2022 16:46

I agree! I finish mat leave and will be back at work to a very new normal of juggling baby and working! Excited to be earning money again though. It’s been very tight this year

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 18/12/2022 16:47

It starts for me on the 25th and ends on the morning of the 27th and I cannot wait. I breathe such a sigh of relief. I find it a deeply depressing time of year.

generalh · 18/12/2022 16:48

Doughnuts68 · 18/12/2022 16:25

Anyone sad that Christmas will be over in a week?

No. I have a week in school then Christmas week off to relax. Then after New Year 3 nights in London. There are 12 days of Christmas!

Newwardrobe · 18/12/2022 16:49

I've got Christmas week off and will only be sad when I have to go back to work.
