Stupidly difficult work quiz

The stupidly difficult work quiz is back for those of you that remember (@rosegoldwatcher).

Basically there are a series of very hard puzzles to solve - each puzzle solve gives you a password to move onto the next stage.

I've already managed to solve stage one myself (go me!) but I've ground to a halt as usual on the second stage (which consists of 8 individual puzzles to solve).

Here's a couple of puzzles i'm stuck on - any help much appreciated!

I was thinking this too, but there's at least several that are cross-platform, so fit in multiple groups.

Following so I can bamboozle my stupidly clever workmates with these!

I feel it has to be initial letters somehow or why say that if any have "the" it should be dropped? Plus, they specify the order they should be in... 🤔

America has tonnes of radio stations in just about every combo of letters I think… not sure that could be it.

Need more brains on this!

The 'read left to right, top to bottom' must be relevant- my brain hurts!

I have been staring at the answers to this one all evening - so frustrating!

Is the answer one word ?

We don't know Newwardrobe. Could be a word, a person, a phrase.....

The shortest answer on the list is 'Pong' which means if we need to 'read' certain letters it could only be first, last, second or third

It's not something as simple as the initials include all the letters of the alphabet ?

Could be but unlikely I think. Usually the title of the quiz is a bit of a clue as well (or makes sense when you know the answer!)

The American AM / FM radio stations tend to be 4 letter call signs starting with the letter K or letter W.

I've been listening and reading the lyrics to the song Video Killed the Radio Star, to see if it had any clues.
