Shows that go stupid

So I've become addicted to Lie To Me. Started brilliant, ended up fucking ridiculous. I can see why season 4 didn't happen.
Like the mentalist - loved it, cried when he found Red John and killed him in the cafe. But no! They had to carry on and rewrite that.

OMG too many to mention!

Yeh, the mentalist went on too long. The last series particularly was woeful.

Lost just got well lost. I was so disappointed with that. How to get away with murder got a bit silly but then got better when an irritating main character snuffed it.

Did you ever watch Fringe? I remember that being ridiculous by the end too.

MoanySloney · 09/12/2022 21:14

Oh and Person of Interest. I loved that and it just went so random.

Came on to say fringe too started off so well then all I remember is angst and bad plots

A town called eureka it was good watching then there was time travel then there was more time travel personally thru should have stuck to floating buildings and synthetic water

That zombie one into it’s 105th season or whatever

PuttingDownRoots · 09/12/2022 21:18

Liked Torchwood when it was in Wales. Let's pretend Childrrn on Earth didn't happen. Then series 4 (Miracle Day) was just not Torchwood.

MindPalace · 09/12/2022 21:20

Arrested Development

The stupid changes in later series were so unnecessary.

Yes torchwood was cut short by some spectacular wanky storyline of LETS KILL EVERYONE and then MAKE JACK KILLABLE I get distancing yourself from the Dr's milder storyline might mean a few character deaths but all but gwen? Are you stupid? Even owens death was dumb the whole thing went from good to wank in a nano second

When the evil guy turns good!!!

Syler was bad.

Spike, bad.

Spoils the previous umpteen series when the bad guy gets reinvented.

Cigarettesaftersex1 · 09/12/2022 21:23

Vicar of Dibley, they changed Alice's whole character from being sweetly daft, naive and innocent

Boston Legal, the story lines in the last series were abysmal

Last Tango in Halifax, should have finished at series 4 and even that started to get a bit shit. Series 5 should never have been made

Threadkillacilla · 09/12/2022 21:23

Oh I've got one.
True Blood!
still watched it all but ffs.

NotEvenADisneyDad · 09/12/2022 21:24

Bones. It was much better before they got together and had kids.

Walking dead? First that came to my mind. I ended up putting it on when I needed to get to sleep.

ADialgaAteMyDog · 09/12/2022 21:26

The Good Wife. Soooo good. Then they introduce Kalinda's husband for no reason and get rid of him. Marc Warren is a fantastic actor but he was wasted in this!
Then th following series where they sent Carey to prison for....no reason. We just didn't give a shit after that and gave up. Some of the episodes before that were just amazing though.

I generally don't watch American series now as they go on for about 45 episodes of nothing.

42isthemeaning · 09/12/2022 21:29

Dexter
Great until season 6-8 when it was rubbish. The ending was awful.
The reboot was promising but ended up being rubbish also.

beanbagpotato · 09/12/2022 21:30

Lucifer.
Can't even be bother explaining the disappointment and pointlessness of the protracted ending.

Ohmygoshposh · 09/12/2022 21:30

Ally McBeal

butyoudear · 09/12/2022 21:31

Pretty Little Liars. It was always mindless rubbish but at least you could keep up with the plot in the first 3 seasons.

DolphinWars · 09/12/2022 21:32

Zoo on Netflix - seasons 1 and 2, fabulous!
Season 3? Just pretend it didn’t happen.

Oh no. Ive been binging this and nearly at the end.

AnyFucker · 09/12/2022 21:32

@BratzB aye, that one. Great when it started, turned into garbage.

Sprouttreesareamazing · 09/12/2022 21:33

Blacklist
Manifest

Kanaloa · 09/12/2022 21:34

It’s already been said but I agree with How to Get Away with Murder. They had to keep having them murder more people in more convoluted scenarios and I think it lost a lot of the charm and excitement of the first two series.

I really liked the first few series of Glee but 5 & 6 were bizarre and woeful and completely unrelated to the rest of the series.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 09/12/2022 21:36

The ultimate two:

Simpsons
Game of Thrones

OneFrenchEgg · 09/12/2022 21:36

Oh I've found my people. ALL of these - what's that expression about sharks when you go too far? That's the one.

Orange is the New Black. I LOVED it for the first few seasons and then... WTF?
