They've edited the text 😩
I think.

Still ridiculous, but mildly disappointing to have lost the extravagant introduction...

And got rid of a hundred photos

FelizNavicrab · 29/11/2022 12:01

I like to feel we've had an influence here. Maybe they were wondering why the pages were getting so many hits and it led them back to this thread Grin

Pyjamageddon · 29/11/2022 12:06

Ahhhh so disappointed to have only just found this AFTER loads of photos have been removed. Still thought it was a lot more than three bathrooms though!

Furries · 29/11/2022 12:06

Oh no, the dog has been erased 😢

ChessieFL · 29/11/2022 12:19

Wish I had taken some screenshots of the original bonkersness!

tigerbear · 29/11/2022 12:21

I can’t get over the blue bedroom with the Argos/Travel Lodge styling, circa 1986

Worryingly, when I showed DH this place last night, he really liked it! 😱😄
He thought the swimming pool apartment was weirder, but even started muttering things like “you know what, that square footage is actually quite good! If we moved that wall, and took that out, it could be quite decent…” 🤔

ChessieFL · 29/11/2022 12:25

That blue bedroom doesn’t even exist, it’s an example of what a bedroom might look like if you convert the garage!

PriamFarrl · 29/11/2022 12:32

Oh well that’s no fun.

Sheesh, it's almost a normal ad now.

AtomicRitual · 29/11/2022 12:36

It's like someone's been reading this thread and making notes!

I miss the doggy - bring him back!

PriamFarrl · 29/11/2022 12:37

It goes to show what difference the pictures make. Although it’s still rather ‘different’ it looks reasonable.

Don't know if this will work, but if so, you're welcome.

Maerchentante · 29/11/2022 12:43

It works, but only shows 105 pictures, not 124

Handsnotwands · 29/11/2022 12:55

In the early 2000s (so pre EU) i used to spend a lot of time in my employer's office in Romania. This v much reminds me of the vibe of the high end buildings there. Fairly recent prosperity and affluence emerging out of a lifetime of communism, inequality and hardship.

Pyjamageddon · 29/11/2022 13:46

Thank you @coffeeandbiscuit ! Wow. Bonkers!

TitoMojito · 29/11/2022 16:25

Thank you for the web archive link! Was going to show this to someone today and realised the blurb was gone. Was devastated hahaha.

splatfrog · 29/11/2022 18:42

I've just re-looked. There's still plenty to laugh about, like the hideous melamine table mats (Put them out of sight!), surrounding the glass lazy Susan with the rise & fall mercury ball thingies in the glass tube. A hat-trick of bad taste.. Also, for someone who's spent so much on the bathroom, the screwed-up bathmat spoils the look a bit...
I wonder what that metal trough thing is under the granite wall? Do you think it had water trickling down it once?

splatfrog · 29/11/2022 18:43

Kermit the frog would love this house, it's just his shade of green...

splatfrog · 29/11/2022 18:44

The new blurb is much easier to read.

splatfrog · 29/11/2022 18:48

CorporateBull · 29/11/2022 08:40

I can’t see any stains on the sheet but am amused to see the bed is styled with bedside reading of National Geographic featuring an atomic bomb. What could be more relaxing?

I noticed this too! It's positioned to make you notice it, but why? To be fair, although the listing was/is bonkers, it's certainly spread the word more than normal.

splatfrog · 29/11/2022 18:49

Leasehold though, would you risk the freeholder vetoing any modernisation plans?

Meem321 · 29/11/2022 18:54

CheshireSplat · 27/11/2022 23:28

It's on a surprisingly ordinary-looking road.

But Coombe Dingle is a very affluent area. So despite the mediocre road (I agree), people will pay £££ to have this postcode.

Kennykenkencat · 29/11/2022 19:30

I think this is someone who wanted the latest and best of everything but didn’t think about it being a 1 bed flat in a village outside of Bristol.

Or what he considered to be an absolute stonking feature that no one else has and has to be overly explained to the plebs at large
eg Blum hinges and sliders on drawers, in other words soft close hinges and drawers which are £2.50 each when you order a kitchen.

The fact he went for the “colour of the year 2022” (it’s actually a blue colour not green) instead of what might make the flat look nice says it all. He just wanted to fill the flat with stuff that would look impressive instead of stuff that was practical and well designed and would make the flat inviting.

He goes on about the cost of living crisis but has a 12 kw fire in the living room.
I worked it out at being £4.85 per hour to run
That is not something you can afford to put on ever.

I saw a smaller flat that had 2 bedrooms and actually looked lovely (I think it is the down stairs flat or in next doors) and that went for £400,000

This flat looks like it was designed by Austin Powers after waking up from stasis.

I think I would have to rip everything out and start again. It just wasn’t practical

Although the blurb did say the flat was “magical” I might buy it and see what magical abilities it has.
