It reminds me of living on a boat- so cramped and so much wood! And the steam in the shower picture just adds to the feeling of dampness around the place.

the creepy tunnel picture is actually from a local churchyard and not as terrifying as it looks, it’s just a footpath.

A pulchritudinous, grandiose detailed property which has been magnificently crafted over 5 years in natural materials, built over 3 floors with surprising modern eco credentials.

Step away from the thesaurus!

Yes, indeed! "Pulchritudinous" in particular took me mentally back to a very ancient television programme of variety acts - "The Good Old Days" - where the Master of Ceremonies, Leonard Sachs, who introduced each act with similar fulsome praise.

(Showing me age, here . . . 😂)

WinterLobelia · 28/11/2022 10:36

Cripes.

I gave up too my brain simply did not understand what it was looking at.

I'm going back though to look for the dog. And possibly the bearded dancing man.

Poor estate agent having to deal with this client!

The vendor must have insisted on the photos being used, along with their own words.

The EA must be gritting their teeth , hoping for a quick sale, and holding out for the commission Grin.

The vendor will be constantly on at them, "but why isn't it selling, it's perfect, it's so unique".....

Emotionalsupportviper · 28/11/2022 10:38

Tory MPs' Shagfest Emporium?

pavillion1 · 28/11/2022 10:39

How so?

I was imaging this bloke in all honesty.

🤣🤣
I just think it is .. it's so OTT and the rambling description.. The talking about money is so crude .. I'm convinced.

pavillion1 · 28/11/2022 10:40

I can't stop looking at it ..
well done OP this is the best I've seen yet .

WinterLobelia · 28/11/2022 10:40

Oh Lord they literally included pics of their dog walk. I think the pp was right- the vendor uploaded all the photos they took that day and the agent lost the will to live by photo 45 and uploaded the lot.

Quite like the manor house they included though.

RestingMurderousFace · 28/11/2022 10:41

Is it a treehouse?

JoanThursday · 28/11/2022 10:42

I think this apartment is in the identical property next door. I felt far less tense looking at these pics! Bright and airy apartment

Luckingfovely · 28/11/2022 10:44

I've got Covid & am feeling proper rough but this thread is cheering me up.
I remember the 12 Days of Christmas EBay Centerpiece too (proper old, too...)

If you look on google maps, number 59 is the last 'normal' semi and if you go past the collective 61s there's a detached in a different style to the rest of the street that's number 63, so 61/a etc seems to cover two detached properties and the back garden bungalow.

You can see the various options on the council tax listings for the street. There's several options under variations of number 61, then the original one that's been deleted for council tax purposes.

www.tax.service.gov.uk/check-council-tax-band/search?postcode=OlnuSmQYMqW-a-2IcsdPvA&page=1

Got it now, thank you.

61 is split into the ground floor and monstrosity penthouse (LH house on Streetview) and 61a (Bellevue, RH house on Streetview) is split into four flats with another property at the bottom of the garden (61b?).

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 28/11/2022 10:58

All that guff about 'built around an ancient oak' (which would have been actually interesting) and it turns out they men 'there's a tree in the garden'.

And I wonder what Shah Jahan would make of being commemorated by 2 bathrooms, one of which contains a sink that looks like a stack of loo rolls.

Lovely dog, though.

LikeTearsInRain · 28/11/2022 11:02

Had a skim read. Is it the whole house for sale or just the Airbnb studio which apparently gets £580 per night?

Lannielou · 28/11/2022 11:03

PriamFarrl · 28/11/2022 07:28

Who is in Bristol and can go and have a look? There has to be someone.

@PriamFarrl am in Bristol on friday

BorsetshireBanality · 28/11/2022 11:05

The decor screams “flamboyant” to me.

DanceForeverUnderTheLights · 28/11/2022 11:05

Wow, the amount of money it must have cost to make that hideous monstrosity.

And imagine living next door and having to look out onto what probably used to be a nice garden, but now looks like it's full of sheds and cobbled together lean-tos. Poor neighbours.

Dreikanter · 28/11/2022 11:05

ErrolTheDragon · 28/11/2022 10:33

The flat for sale is no 61, the flat that sold recently at 61a looks like it’s behind the house next door, which is in the same style? And there seems to be at least 4 flats listed at 61a?

https://media.onthemarket.com/properties/8637222/1322665533/document-0.pdf

It's notable this one which is up for auction (does that mean 'couldn't get a normal buyer?) from a proper estate agent describes the bathroom but doesn't include any photos of it.

The bathroom is top right photo on the last page. Trademark weird onyx style basin / pedestal arrangement and feature wall but a standard white and glass shower cubicle.

Bluetrews25 · 28/11/2022 11:06

If you ripped all that wood out and put it in the wood burner, it would last years, I tell you, years. And then the property would be improved. A bit.

JellyfishandShells · 28/11/2022 11:08

£542 a night on booking.com - where it is described as 1 bedroom.
