Your first perfume

Can you remember what your first proper perfume was? I was looking for a perfume for dd12 for Christmas and I sniffed one and it instantly took me back to 1994 it was identical to the original United colours of Benetton perfume, I got a bit excited and said to the girl in the shop who nodded along sympatheticly with the old woman!!

Actually i think it was BS Fuzzy Peach or Ananya.

I've always loved perfume, the one I first remember was a kids one from Avon, Daisies I think?

Forever and aqua di gio

SwedishEdith · 21/11/2022 20:19

Rebel and L'Aimant. My granny used to buy L'Aimant every Christmas and I just assumed I wouldn't like it so never used it. And then actually bought myself some recently and it's lovely.

What does Cerrutti 1881 smell like? It's always on offer so am tempted to try it.

Anais Anais - I bought a bottle a couple of months ago and still love it.

@FartyBrainedHippo that was mine too, I saved and bought it in Paris when I was a teenager. I felt proper grown up at the time.

Cacharel Amor Amor.
I'm currently looking for a new perfume. Both scents that I love have recently been discontinued.

LubaLuca · 21/11/2022 20:32

I think it was probably a Body Shop perfume oil, maybe Fuzzy Peach.

I remember getting Forever by Yardley in my Christmas stocking when I was a teen, and that seemed very sophisticated - a proper perfume in a fancy bottle. A sniff of that now would take me straight back to Christmas morning 1991 😍

OppositeNumber · 21/11/2022 20:34

Another one who first splashed out on Georgio Beverley Hills. I was tempted by a magazine sample and had to have it for a Xmas gift. For more standard fare I wore Body Shop Lemon Verbena.

PleaseStopExplaining · 21/11/2022 20:43

Exclamation, united colours of Beneton , Quiddity in the capsules and Charlie were my first perfumes as a teen.

When I was 14 or 15 an adult friend of the family developed an allergy and gave me her bottle of Escape by Calvin Klein so that was my first proper perfume.

Murasakispillowbook · 21/11/2022 20:44

Bought in a French Supermarket- Garçonne

I absolutely loved it. About 1991 maybe?

generalh · 21/11/2022 20:45

Anais Anais and Rive Gauche

ThrowAwayOne · 21/11/2022 20:51

White diamonds sent to me from America and I felt oh so grown up wearing it. And then Vanilla Fields I think it was called from Avon. Loved it which is strange as I hate anything vanilla now.

purser25 · 21/11/2022 20:58

Pretty peach then Aqua Manda there was another that was meant to smell like freshly mown hay!

Justcashnosweets · 21/11/2022 21:00

Mine was Tommy Girl. My mum still wear Cerutti 1881 and I have recently 'borrow' a bottle off her!

Chloe.

Same! Followed by Paris

TellMeWhere · 21/11/2022 21:18

My mum's Loulou and Anais Anais are the first ones I remember sniffing.

I think the first perfume I was ever gifted was a bottle of Tribe and I felt like such a grown up. Prior to that I had quite the collection of impulse body sprays.

Moved on to Charlie and So...

Mol1628 · 21/11/2022 21:20

Body shop white musk. Got it in a gift set with a little teddy bear.

Spanielsarepainless · 21/11/2022 21:34

Charlie.

AmberGer · 21/11/2022 21:36

Exclamation!
