Can you remember what your first proper perfume was? I was looking for a perfume for dd12 for Christmas and I sniffed one and it instantly took me back to 1994 it was identical to the original United colours of Benetton perfume, I got a bit excited and said to the girl in the shop who nodded along sympatheticly with the old woman!!

Exclamation!

I would do anything to be able to smell it one more time

Blue Grass!

I had Blue Grass too 🙂
Also, around the same time, Tweed (my mum used it)
And Aqua Manda? Not sure that counts as proper perfume though (Woolies stocked it iirc)

I forgot about Tresor.

I am quite sure it was a bit old for me as a teen, but the bottle must have swung me 😊

ladymalfoy45 · 21/11/2022 17:08

Audace. The Geogio Beverly Hills.
I don't countSo!

BedTaker · 21/11/2022 17:09

Tribe. Fucking loved that smell!

And when it was time to move onto something a little more sophisticated it was that one in the green bottle with the pink crown that looked like a glow in the dark toy.

My first actual designer perfume was CK One I think.

carefulcalculator · 21/11/2022 17:11

Exclamation! here too Smile

Misspacorabanne · 21/11/2022 17:11

GreyhairedHobbit · 21/11/2022 17:16

Coty Exclamation?

We still get it here in SA. There is quite a big range now.

The original black and white bottle is also still around.

Is it discontinued in the UK?

MsLucyEyelesbarrow · 21/11/2022 17:19

Avon’s first flowers. Then Anais Anais.

aSpanielintheworks · 21/11/2022 17:19

White Satin & Loulou, oooh that brings back memories!

DisforDarkChocolate · 21/11/2022 17:20

Perhaps find one of those gift sets where you get several small bottles by one make so she can experiment?

xJ0y · 21/11/2022 17:20

Eau de Givenchy
Gorgeous, peaches and grapefruit but too weak, no stay

Dubbadubbadumdum · 21/11/2022 17:21

Exclamation was the first I bought myself, but my first favourite was Estee Lauder Pleasures, which I bought with my 25% staff discount in Debenhams. When I turned 21 a friend bought me a bottle of Duende by J Del Poso and any chance I got I would stock up in the airport-absolutly amazing scent, I still hanker after it all these years later 😫

madamsapple · 21/11/2022 17:22

Fiori

I dont remember who made it, and googling just brings up modern perfumes, not the 70s one.

It had a frosted bottle and a burgundy cap, I think.
