Your first perfume

Can you remember what your first proper perfume was? I was looking for a perfume for dd12 for Christmas and I sniffed one and it instantly took me back to 1994 it was identical to the original United colours of Benetton perfume, I got a bit excited and said to the girl in the shop who nodded along sympatheticly with the old woman!!

Ooh, I had Anais Anais too!

My first really expensive perfume was Chanel 19 and was a Christmas present from my boss. This was 1978.

At the end of 2020 I bought it as a treat for finishing a lot of surgery and wanted something to celebrate a rather traumatic year and to make me feel good again. I remembered how much I liked it so ordered the perfume.

It worked too! 😃

Anais Anais; then United by Benetton. I thought I was properly grown up and sophisticated when I bought Chanel Christalle!

As a teen I had some dewberry and some exclamation but when I met my first husband it all stopped as he didn't allow it.

Charlie was my first. Then Anais Anais

White Musk (my best friend wore Dewberry) then Clinique Happy.

Red Jeans - Versace - I think they even still make it so might buy a bottle for old times sake!

I still have my old bottle of Anais Anais. It must be over 30 years old.

Every now and then I'd use some of my mums Moon Drops.

First proper one was Lou Lou Blue. How I love that perfume ive got about 5ml left in a bottle i got off ebay a few years ago and I can't bear to use it.

Also had samsara, Venezia, Tendre Poison (another one i could weep for), sun moon stars, monsoon....all my faves have been discontinued 😩😩

YSL Paris. Still love it.

Just had to google as could remember the bottle but YSL Rive Gauche.

Can't remember the name but the box was yellow and white stripes

The original classic Ghost. It's still my signature scent that I buy today.

Think mine was Estée Lauder Youth Dew. You could smell me a mile away. My friend wore Tabu and was equally pongy!

Tramp - in the seventies. But why did anyone think that was a good name for a perfume! Either of the meanings of the word.

I had Tommy Girl and an Avon one with a Butterfly lid.
