Anyone else in the queue?

I'm logged in for my Mum on one device - queue position 6235 & on my phone for myself - queue position 8901

Hope they start opening up soon 🤞🏻

Only down to 22100! Kids are waking now. Are people actually doing their Christmas food shop? I normally bung some champagne in the basket and check out, them amend at a later date.

Jam shed here 🍷😂

ProperVexed · 15/11/2022 07:40

Deckers! I've just been thrown out of the queue. Logged back in to find I'm 289000. I've given up.

SnowFir · 15/11/2022 07:41

I've been booking Tesco Christmas slots for years and this is the worst by far.

RustyBear · 15/11/2022 07:41

Maybe the reason the queue is quite so long is the number of people who are in it on multiple devices?
And it only says you have 10 minutes to start your order, not 10 minutes to check out.

Spoodee · 15/11/2022 07:41

I've just got to front of the que, logged in and it's only open to Dec 9th?!!

Myshitisreal · 15/11/2022 07:41

Going by past tesco experience, the slots people don't secure drop off after 2 hours so around 8am. It could be a bit before or after that. You never know. People book them but don't check out so they're all released back into the system

I'm not being judgemental here, but wouldn't it be quicker to use go to the store? I tend to pick stuff up as I go along but haven't started anything yet but the thought of siting in a virtual queue just makes me anxious. 😟

Not for me, pregnant with a big bump and can't stand for too long it hurts! I'd rather stick me feet up with a cup of hot lemon and honey while waiting for the toddler to wake up.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 15/11/2022 07:42

I think you only have to START shopping within 10 mins of reaching the head of the queue & then you get the normal amount of time to do the shop, though they recommend putting a couple of things in & redoing the order later.

elephantseal · 15/11/2022 07:42

290,575 here 😂🙄

Oh ffs. So I've stayed up since 6am for nothing. Bloody hell

There was uproar last year about this 😂. People were stuck in huge queues online then someone would waltz along and ask what all the fuss was about as they got straight in on the app. Twitter was lively lol.

Last year I think the app forced you to have it actively open or you lost your place, which was annoying but also made the app queue move very fast!

RiverFlowers · 15/11/2022 07:49

Started queuing at 5:55, got in just after 7:30am. Crazy. They should really somehow do it by location not bundle everyone in to one big queue.

On the plus, I got the slots I wanted and have booked all my slots between now and Christmas.

When do the slots between Christmas and NY open?

Are you on the new Off Peak saver as they aren't eligible now, old midweek saver is still eligible but I am expecting to be moved to off peak so won't get a slot next year

Spoodee · 15/11/2022 07:53

I signed up, I used £4.50 of club card vouchers and it only fook 40p off

I didn't wanna lose my place so just paid the £7.49.

Will sort it out later

teablanket · 15/11/2022 07:53

Got to checkout, entered my card details, "something went wrong". Infuriating. 😂 I got the email confirmation so going to assume it went through okay. Need to head out in two minutes, don't have time to hit "retry" any longer.

Two years ago was the worst for me, but then that was peak covid year and people still weren't wanting to leave the house.

YouPrettyThings · 15/11/2022 07:55

After 2 hours got to book my slot and now the app won't work Haloween Sad

It will probably take that amount of each month I would think.

ilovebagpuss · 15/11/2022 07:59

I know some people need an online shop but I wouldn't risk it this year. I can imagine staff shortages and product shortages leading to all sorts of cancellations and subs.

mamabear715 · 15/11/2022 08:00

Apparently 10 mins to go.. fingers crossed..

The majority will be delivered and if there’s things missing, one of us can go out and get them. Much better than doing the full shop when it’s so busy in store.

WhiteFire · 15/11/2022 08:03

What are Tesco doing that makes it like this? Is it just the share of the market they have? I booked my Sainsbury's slot weeks ago, straight in, booked it, all done. (I'm not overly bothered at having one in the

I don't drive, @ilovebagpuss , & have hurty arthritic hips, so it's a must, I'm afraid! :-(
