Okay how do all these women have no VPL in gym leggings?

Do most women wear thongs or perhaps go commando?!

A thong makes me shudder with the discomfort

I like nice comfy pants thank you but it seems like I'm rare because no one seems to have visible pant lines in workout clips online or in real life.

I'm genuinely perplexed 😆

I went to a very busy pilates class and ended up behind someone who was going commando and non squat proof leggings. I didn't want to see someone else's crack as I did my cow and cat stretches but there you go.

I wear pants. Don't care about VPL at any point in my life. But I do wonder how camel.toe is avoided.

This was my thinking, the g string helps reduce the camel toe somewhat

ExhaustedFlamingo · 09/11/2022 09:54

In fairness, I'm not bothered about camel toe or VPL - I just don't want to feel scrunchy pants around my nether regions 😅

I always do a squat test though so I'm 100% confident no one is staring into my arse crack through the leggings.

Suzi888 · 09/11/2022 09:56

Please let it be a thong. No pants, with nothing by but a thin piece of fabric over your areas, whilst sat, legs spread on gym equipment is a bit 🤢.

Expensive leggings, the material is thicker and has more of a lifting effect so it doesn't show. I can see that when I compare my own cheaper leggings with my pair of Lululemons. I definitely didn't know that going pantless for exercise was a thing!! Not sure I'd fancy that with all the sweat and tight synthetic material 😯

Pants. Who cares about VPL. Commando is not for me, ew.

CookPassBabtridge · 09/11/2022 12:10

Wow I had no idea. I need knickers to hold in my tummy and don't give a fuck about VPL, why would you?

WandaWomblesaurus · 09/11/2022 12:19

No pants in polyester based sport fiber leggings?
Confused

ZealAndArdour · 09/11/2022 12:30

As mentioned up thread, I wear the brand Thunderpants for day to day and the gym, they’ve got very firm leg seams so don’t shift at all and they never end up in my bum crack. I feel comfortable and supported in them. If someone sees my STRIPEY pants through my leggings then they can consider it a little bit of extra pizzazz to their day. They won’t though because my leggings are squat proof.

talomon · 09/11/2022 13:25

I am not bothered about VPL, but you don't have to wear leggings to the gym. Wear looser joggers - your body doesn't have to be in tight clothing to get result from a workout!

hallowedweens · 09/11/2022 14:42

Never noticed

I always wear pants. Don't care if anyone sees a line. It's about comfort snd excercise

I find that for heavy weights that I just feel much more supported/powerful in very strong compression rather than loose clothing, and also less conscious of my top getting hoiked up or a waistband getting scrunched or slipping down and concerns for my modesty detracting from what I’m actually trying to achieve. It may just be a mental thing, as I know most of the male “gym bro” types lift in loose clothing.

I also feel much more comfortable in compression the day after a weight session as it seems to help with DOMS.

DannyGary · 09/11/2022 14:57

They wear pants that fit them.

Boxin · 09/11/2022 15:04

Ew the thought of machine seats having all
sorts of secretions on them from people not wearing pants just thin leggings makes feel a bit sick.
I always wear comfy underwear for working out in and couldn’t give a shit about VPL. Never noticed if I do or don’t. I’ve also never studied anyone else to see what they are wearing. Literally don’t care.

CookPassBabtridge · 09/11/2022 15:14

Feel grim at all the people going about their day with no pants on..

bravelittletiger · 09/11/2022 15:15

Woah I can't believe so many people go commando!! It sounds so uncomfy!

I wear sweaty Betty leggings and you don't get VPL. I tend to wear Brazilian knickers and they definitely don't give you one.

DreamingofItaly2023 · 09/11/2022 15:18

For everyone worried about my pant less body on gym equipment I only run outdoors with only my feet (in socks and trainers) coming into contact with anything Grin

isthismylifenow · 09/11/2022 15:20

I'm in the wearing underwear club.

They tend to keep things tucked in for me.

But I do know that the younger generation don't, and how do I know this you ask. Well I watched a woman on Tiktok doing some stretches. And then the fyp algorithm obviously thought I'm very into this, and now I keep getting video of woman 'stretching' with the fanny only facing the screen, and always with a wet patch. A pair of undies or pantyliner are def not in use there.

🤔

Lord have mercy. Now I need a teen to show me how to stop getting these videos.

OhmygodDont · 09/11/2022 15:21

Wondering how many people think I do the school run commando now, I live in sports leggings. I just walk a lot and love the pockets. Not the arse eating kind though.

I wear a thong.

RampantIvy · 09/11/2022 15:26

I find the idea of not wearing pants under leggings rather ew. Mine don't chafe.

HideTheCroissants · 09/11/2022 15:29

No way would I go commando at the gym! No VPL knickers from M&S under my gym leggings and no lines at all.

BogRollBOGOF · 09/11/2022 15:52

I wear pants. Big ones. So big that my glutemus maximus cannot devour them. They help with the belly jiggle too.

I don't think there's a VPL issue but I'm not really arsed if there is anyway 😉

I haven't tried a thong since a painful experiement back around the Millenium.
Commando ain't happening.

StarlightLady · 09/11/2022 16:11

No knickers with gym leggings unless it's during my period. I'm not bothered about VPL, it's just more comfy. I don't wear knickers with tights either, but I do wear Autograph tights that have a "realistically sized" cotton gusset.

itsgettingweird · 09/11/2022 16:16

I wear Tesco own no vpl pants.

They really are good.

And reasonable price.

Thong or Commando are not for me Grin

Ninjasan · 09/11/2022 16:17

'No VPL' shorts from M&S. I can't imagine going commando or wearing a thong.

PeloFondo · 09/11/2022 16:19

I wear big knickers. Not wearing a thong for a 90 min spin class - OW Grin
