Okay how do all these women have no VPL in gym leggings?

Do most women wear thongs or perhaps go commando?!

A thong makes me shudder with the discomfort

I like nice comfy pants thank you but it seems like I'm rare because no one seems to have visible pant lines in workout clips online or in real life.

I'm genuinely perplexed 😆

I genuinely wouldn’t care and have never noticed. Knickers and leggings are what I wear when out running.

Ew any discharge or sweat would go straight through the leggings onto the machines 🤢

I don’t have discharge and I wipe the machines after use anyway (standard gym etiquette) - everyone sweats on them.

I doubt a pair of knickers under your leggings is going to magically stop your sweaty bum leaving moisture on a gym machine.

I don’t have discharge

Like Prince Andrew doesn't sweat?

Worriedddd · 08/11/2022 22:39

I don't care if I have VPL , don't people get a sweaty fanny and it goes on your gusset when going commando ? I can't tolerate that.

DeliberatelyObtuse · 08/11/2022 22:40

No pants

AdoraBell · 08/11/2022 22:42

I wear microfibre knickers.

YellowMeeple · 08/11/2022 22:42

For the avoidance of doubt my pants free exercising is nothing to do with VPL- if people can see whether or not I have pants on then I need to run faster! Exercise leggings are designed to wick sweat away from the body, cooling you down and reducing chafing, pants would interfere with that and are just an unnecessary bit of extra fabric

Exactly that! You'd get chaffing from wearing pants.

PrincessofWellies · 08/11/2022 22:43

I'm always commando 😂

ThinkThings · 08/11/2022 22:48

When did we start calling knickers pants? I thought only Americans called them pants!

Ok I don’t have enough discharge that it leaks out my gym leggings. I’m old and menopausal. Better?

I obviously sweat, unlike Andrew.

No Americans use pants for trousers not underwear. I use pants and knickers pretty interchangeably for my own underwear (or lack of underwear in this case!)

EllaBella41 · 08/11/2022 22:58

Kinda interesting to know that people are actually commando, I had no idea. I just thought I was buying Bridget Jones pants and paying a visible price for my comfort.

Think I'll stick with wearing knickers though even if they do show😂

RefuseTheLies · 08/11/2022 22:58

Pants. Always pants. Could not care less about VPL, mine or anyone else’s

cushionfiend · 08/11/2022 22:58

@ThinkThings Americans say panties for knickers, and pants for trousers.

finallydones · 08/11/2022 23:00

How do they avoid the dreaded camel toe, that’s what I wanna know.

err judging by what I see, they don't? Also why don't people who sweat around their fanjo stick to the colour black?

TastesLikeFlavourlessFizz · 08/11/2022 23:03

Surprised by all the pants-less people.

Thongs for me. I feel like I need that extra layer when sweating but now I’m questioning everything.

Mind you, I’m thinking of finding some looser cotton joggers (but nice and light) as I think the unbreathable gym leggings material gives me thrush.

The joys of being a woman, eh!

Upwiththelark76 · 08/11/2022 23:03

🤢 grim

DublinDoris2000 · 08/11/2022 23:06

I wear giant pants that are big enough that they don't dig in and create dents in my hips. I also prefer matt, or matt with a texture gym leggings. Shiny ones show the outline of your pants more.

Americans call trousers pants, and leggings are tights.

(Under) pants is perfectly british.

Upwiththelark76 · 08/11/2022 23:03

🤢 grim

Um why?

I get it’s personal preference but I had no idea others would have an opinion. Is this about sitting on the machines in the gym (as surely there can’t be an issue when out running)?

If so I don’t see what difference it makes? People sweat in the gym and surfaces need cleaning I would need to be wearing more than one pair of pants to stop my sweat getting on a surface I was sitting on.

Unless you are using the trouser definition of pants, in which case I would agree that not wearing any would be a little much!

FlySwimmer · 08/11/2022 23:16

Hmmm, I usually just embrace the VPL to be honest, though some leggings are better than others for not showing it, just as some pants are better. Maybe I should try thongs. I don’t know if I could go commando: I do a lot on the bike and pants are just an extra layer of cushion…

Floydthebarber · 08/11/2022 23:17

I'd also go with no pants. Dh said I was crazy for wearing pants under leggings when I started running because if the chafe.

Winceybincey · 08/11/2022 23:19

Don’t wear pants and go a size up in leggings. Very comfy.
