I’m now pondering JRM’s actual reasons for leaving. Is it now that the actual big boys have come out to play he’s picked up his ball and gone home because they make no secret of knowing he’s a twat or are they possibly too corrupt and incompetent for him?

The former.

I see Braverman is following Truss’ example and failing to turn up to answer the opposition’s questions. They’re frit, aren’t they?

tobee · 26/10/2022 15:50

We never really did get to find out what Truss was up to on urgent question day

Blossomtoes · 26/10/2022 15:52

I don’t suppose we’ll ever find out what kept Braverman so busy today either.

This is where we have an problem with "democracy".

They can literally do what they like apparently for another 27 months Angry

itsgettingweird · 26/10/2022 16:57

Watching PMQs.

Sunak is just an intelligent version of Johnson.

All bluster and throwing accusations whilst not answering the questions - but just without the bafooness.

It worries me because the electorate may well be too dense to actually see it for what it is

Notonthestairs · 26/10/2022 17:03

"I see Braverman is following Truss’ example and failing to turn up to answer the opposition’s questions. They’re frit, aren’t they?"

This has been evident all year - so many of them failed to turn up to multiple Select Committees meetings.

All part of lowering our standards.

tobee · 26/10/2022 17:18

And normalising the lowering.

Fits in actually with the Truss ideology (although slightly different) "we don't need to consult anyone else or prove our workings. Were determined to show that you're just small minded etc"

I think most of the time it's a deliberate frit tactic and not what encouraged Truss & Kwarteng to feel they were on ok ground to go ahead.

tobee · 26/10/2022 17:19

"think most of the time it's a deliberate frit tactic and not what encouraged Truss & Kwarteng to feel they were on ok ground to go ahead."

Leave out the not in the above to make sense 🙄

I have been for my covid booster so missed PMQs

I did see this from Starmer Grin

"The only time he ran in a competitive election, he got trounced by the former Prime Minister, who herself got beaten by a lettuce...

I turned it off after a couple of minutes, I couldn't bear it and now I wish I'd stayed around for that bit.

the80sweregreat · 26/10/2022 17:29

Just saw a bit of PMQs
RS came across as a smug arrogant little man
I don't rate KS much either tbh, but I feel that RS will become Boris Johnson mark two
Deeply depressing and all this talk of extra police, who got shot of many of the police in the first place ?
Awful times ahead and they will spin it as being for the greater good

Sky News confirms that Rishi Sunak reinstates fracking ban in another government U-turn

A U-turn on a U-turn he voted in favour for just 7 days ago

They must be getting dizzy. They are spinning round faster and faster.

I think they’re losing track of what they think now.

Being dizzy can do that to you.

We've just watched pmqs. Starmer did well, Sunak came across as a knob. Repeating the same old crap as his predecessors.
Braverman was looking smug and Mordaunt like she was going to cry.

They haven't changed at all.

the80sweregreat · 26/10/2022 17:50

I think I'm going to really dislike RS more than BJ !

Blossomtoes · 26/10/2022 17:58

Steady on, old girl! No could be that bad - except perhaps Braverman.

Blossomtoes · 26/10/2022 17:59

Nobody!

the80sweregreat · 26/10/2022 17:50

I'm feeling the same.

But yes to Braverman being on my top spot!

You can all be grateful she's not your MP though!

Saucery · 26/10/2022 18:23

Fracking ban excellent, but agree it makes him look insincere. He’s playing to the Mark Menzies constituents with that, because he knows they will turn against the Tories if it is allowed again.

Not surprisingly if he was coached by Gove. Is that the best they can do? What's wrong with Rishi that he can't do it himself? Surely he should have his own comms advisors? Will he be another Truss? Apparently when she was up & coming as as Cameron protégé she was marked as a great communicator 😆😆😆

itsgettingweird · 26/10/2022 19:05

They debate like private school kids are taught to.

Throw in facts as it sounds good and it attempts to derail because people focus on incorrect facts and not their message.

Starmer debates like a lawyer - forensic and keeps to his brief.

What matter is which one the public believes and who they think is better.

I don't think it comes across as well as it should that Starmer is the better - it never did with Johnson either.

Odd how last week and in the leadership hustings he was in favour of fracking.

What else doesn't he know whether he supports or not?
