Their steak, mushroom and red wine pie. Only pie I'll eat because I'm fussy.

Mindymomo · 22/10/2022 08:50

I loved their chicken caesar salad, but they’ve stopped selling this. I get crisps I like from there. Also fruit and veg are better quality. Meat is expensive.

AuntieMarys · 22/10/2022 08:53

Tins of black olives

Florence08 · 22/10/2022 08:57

Findlaters chicken liver paté - nicest bought paté I’ve had.
Essential frozen cherries.

AriettyHomily · 22/10/2022 08:58

I do most of my shopping there but if I was making a special trip

Torchon ham
Salt and vinegar crisps
Baguettes
Deli stuff

Don't rate their ready meals at all or their sandwiches

hugefanofcheese · 22/10/2022 08:59

Mushroom pate, smoked houmous, cheeses, any reduced fruit or veg, I like their bath stuff.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/10/2022 09:00

Frozen feta and spinach pie

daisyjgrey · 22/10/2022 09:03

French salted butter.

BuddhaAtSea · 22/10/2022 09:04

Pomegranate molasses
Za’atar
President butter and cream
Frozen croissants and mini pastries
Eclaires
olive oil (1l)
cup’a’soup their own brand
pear juice

NinjaMeemaw · 22/10/2022 09:06

Jacobs Creek Sparkling Shiraz.I can’t find this anywhere else. Banrock station do a similar one. These are sparkling red wines so quite unusual.
Lemon flavoured olive oil (sometimes I find this at Lidl).
I also used to go into Waitrose specifically to get peppercorns in brine, but they stopped doing those.

Livingonjuice · 22/10/2022 09:13

Hand soap though not seen the ginger one of late.
Also rate the frozen pastries and now want one!

Squishedstormtrooper · 22/10/2022 09:15

Their carrier bags. They are huge and really good quality. I always have one in my handbag as one carries double what the Asda ones do and last forever. I realise how sad it is that I get excited over a good carrier 😂

sageandbasil · 22/10/2022 09:16

Their reduced fat coleslaw is amazing

ouch321 · 22/10/2022 09:39

Their cheesecake- New York one-is rather nice.

ChubbyBroccoli · 22/10/2022 09:42

Sweet potato falafel
Half-bottles of wine
Tulips

SnoopLabbyLab · 22/10/2022 09:49

Their fabric bags, the ones they say ‘goats cheese and honey’ or ‘bubble and squeak’. They look lovely, are great value and work perfectly as swimming bags, for picnics, for shopping etc. Not been in a store lately but I really hope they have some nice ones in for winter.

Shittingpigeon · 22/10/2022 10:00

Bumping because this thread is v timely - heading there today, as a treat.

urbanbuddha · 22/10/2022 10:03

Waitrose own brand ice cream.

Enko · 22/10/2022 10:08

Ds is a student. We shop as a rule.in waitrose at home. He makes a special.treat trip for their mozzarella balls. Says no other supermarket taste as good. Makes me chuckle.

reluctantbrit · 22/10/2022 10:15

Waitrose is our main supermarket as it's the nearest larger one.

But if I want to treat myself:
Lily O'Brien chocolates
Niederegger Marzipan
Slightly smoked salmon (fresh one, not the ones you. eat from the pack)

Their fruit and veg lasts longer.

User19876 · 22/10/2022 10:23

Heston’s Bloody Mary prawn cocktail
Taiko chicken katsu bites with teriyaki Mayo

Gigihulu · 22/10/2022 10:24

Chicken wings (£1.10)
Coleslaw
Their own brand Greek yoghurt
Steak (I'd rather splash out and buy a decent one from the counter as a treat)
Scampi (regularly on offer)
GBK burgers (regularly on offer)
Mussels in sauce (regularly on offer)

We do our main shop at Asda but live so close to Waitrose it's basically our corner shop for top ups

Gigihulu · 22/10/2022 10:24

Also their essentials biological washing powder although they have t had any in months

tulips27 · 22/10/2022 10:27

Taifun tofu hotdogs
Chocolate and raspberry torte (though I've not had this since pre-pandemic and unsure if it's still available)
Individual pieces of baklava
Vegetarian sushi

Dammitthisisshit · 22/10/2022 10:29

Chargrilled artichokes (the ones in the chilled section in plastic tubs). So much nicer than other supermarkets including M&S

All products with eggs in (cakes, tartare sauce, etc). Only Waitrose and M&S use free range eggs in all their products - I just won’t buy from other supermarkets.

their dhal in the Indian side dishes. Several versions, all good.

their almond croissants. the best supermarket ones available and I think they’d rival a patisserie!

their essentials range in general is very good

their Waitrose branded cheddar. Cheaper and better than branded cheese available.
