Waitrose is the nearest supermarket to us. Can walk there in 20 minutes so I'm always there. Its just convenient.
I buy nearly everything there
Love their boxed prepared meals - lamb keftico, lamb shanks and turkey thigh.

Can get good vegan stuff too.
Also loads of products here I cant find anywhere else
But its all adding up 😩

Tillsforthrills · 22/10/2022 22:11

Smoked salmon terrines.

For quick dinners from the Ready to cook range:
Mediterranean vegetables
Charlotte potatoes
Confit Duck legs
Harissa lamb shanks
Ox cheeks in red wine sauce

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 22/10/2022 22:11

Waitrose No 1 Colombian Coffee ice cream to to die for.
Own brand camomile bar soap
Heyford bread

MissVantaBlack · 22/10/2022 22:12

Dorset tea
Fruit and veg
Pannetone, especially the chocolate one (before Christmas)

AdoraBell · 22/10/2022 22:14

Place marking as there’s a Waitrose near-ish to me.

Their carrier bags. They are huge and really good quality. I always have one in my handbag as one carries double what the Asda ones do and last forever. I realise how sad it is that I get excited over a good carrier 😂

They are good though proper carriers.

I pop in as it's nearer for me than other supermarkets for bread and milk and their essential ham its a double pack so there is no waste. I also like their lentil crisp snacks so I get those

Ticksallboxes · 22/10/2022 22:24

My parents only ever shopped in Waitrose so I did too, and it was only when a colleague made a comment that I realised, at about age 35, how much more expensive it was than other supermarkets.

I now buy mostly in Tescos and am soon to switch to Lidl, but will only ever buy the following from Waitrose:
Kiwis
Duchy Organic minced beef (better than any butchers IMO)
Salmon steaks or any other fresh fish.

thismeansnothing · 23/10/2022 15:34

Essentials 10% beef mince.

Essentials chicken breast. This made me realise how crap aldis meat is. First time we got this it actually tasted like chicken!

Essentials eggs.

Essentials baked beans (best ones around since Branston changed their recipe a few years ago).

Thick toastie loaf (actually bread with a crumb, rather than carpet bread as DH calls it).

Petite pois and panchetta tinned soup.

Chilled Mozerella pork meatballs in tomato sauce in the ready to cook range.

Caramelized onion sausages.

Frozen pain au chocolat

Marlborough bun for with a brew when I get home.

Salt beef and mustard mayo sandwich from food to go

One further note on language. (Which is ever evolving, as it should)

Until very recently, Autism came under the term Autism Spectrum Disorder - still widely used. It's now correct term is Autism Spectrum Condition. I think most people would agree that it's better terminology.

People with Autism already have an awful lot to deal with regarding stereotyping, misinformation etc. Being termed as 'disordered' doesn't help. It added to the negativity.

Buggeration!

Ignore me. Wrong thread.

I might need to make a special journey there in December , our nearest one is a bit small , there's a bigger one about 8 miles away .

<Plans List>

Cottagecheeseisnotcheese · 23/10/2022 17:10

The giant fish fingers from the fish counter

tulips27 · 23/10/2022 18:50

All these lovely treats in this thread! I miss the days of going in Waitrose a lot. 😩
I do believe you can shop there on a budget, though, but avoiding all the treats mentioned in this thread.

woodhill · 23/10/2022 18:55

I always enjoy the shopping experience in there

Kingstonmumof1 · 23/10/2022 19:23

Creme fraiche d'Isigny 😋

motleymop · 23/10/2022 19:26

I did not know about these giant fish fingers from the fish counter before this thread. My last waitrose certainly didn't have them, but we've moved - and lo and behold, jumbo fish fingers at the counter today!! Needless to say, I snapped some up.

MrsToadflax · 23/10/2022 19:32

Their frozen breaded onion rings! I've tried every other brand and Waitrose are the tastiest and crispiest. Also, only their Cashmere loo roll will do for us Grin

bjonesreborn · 23/10/2022 19:51

Still to do with waitrose, but not so much what I buy. Although love Jacksons bread and nowhere else seems to sell it round me!
if you get the my waitrose vouchers every week just choose the 2 most expensive ones, doesn’t matter what they are for (or whether you are planning on buying those items!) they will still scan and take the money off. A lovely lady in the little waitrose in chippenham taught me that. She said it was a glitch in the system!
disclaimer: I’ve only ever tried it at self service tills, and it’s worked every time.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 23/10/2022 19:57

Oh that uses to be the case with Tesco coupons

@motleymop I make great fishfinger sandwiches with rocket and tartar sauce using those giant fish fingers

Frith2013 · 23/10/2022 23:48

Hummus with aubergine topping
Raspberry yum yums

Clymene · 24/10/2022 00:05

Their Brittany butter with sea salt is gorgeous. And also their self seal bags.

Love the spices and o king ingredients range - I can get stuff there I can't get anywhere else.

Lots of talk of fish finger sandwiches and the best tartare sauce by a mile is Waitrose Essentials.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 24/10/2022 14:50

Weird. Just gone to book my weekly slot and everything is fully booked for 8 days solid. Is that a half term thing?
