Braverman has tried to frame her resignation about the immigration policy.

I'm guessing the right wingers want to get out in front of candidates. Resignation give them freedom to promise dreams/obsessions/sunlit uplands.

A unity PM is going to struggle with them agitating on the backbenches. It will be Theresa May all over again.

Cummings has tweeted

given Gvt docs, incl OFF-SEN, are routinely circulated by top no10 & CABOFF officials by gmail and whatsapp DAILY, the idea that sending a draft WMS via gmail = sacking/resignation offence is laughable.
^^
clearly fired by PM / Hunt

Interesting.

But if MP's ignore the whip about fracking they'll not be able to put a letter in to the 1922 committee .Rock and a hard place .

Notonthestairs · 19/10/2022 17:25

Angela Richardson has replied ditto to Chris Skidmore's tweet.

At this rate they might not need to.

InMySpareTime · 19/10/2022 17:27

If enough MPs lose the whip it won't be a majority government any more.

Notonthestairs · 19/10/2022 17:28

Mark Menzies (I think) also not voting with the Government.

Some talk of a "lefty coup" of the Government.

Lewis Goodall saying Shapps in as Home Sec. Not a bad move by Hunt

This is like bloody musical chairs now.

Wish Mogg would follow her lead and piss off too.

Can’t see her lasting more than a day or so now. Surely it’s over very soon.

You would have thought that if your dreams are filled with deporting some of the world's most vulnerable people to a country with a dubious relationship with human rights, you might have checked with your boss before taking responsibility for immigration whether your boss had similar dreams.

jgw1 · 19/10/2022 17:35

If Liz Truss is so adamant that it is important that ministeral code is up held, why did she not resign on the many occassions that Johnson ignored the code?

Electoral calculus now has Braverman losing her seat at the next election.

A constituency that has always been conservative since at least the 80's.

the80sweregreat · 19/10/2022 17:51

I'm wondering what SB has done ?

Upset Jeremy Hunt.

Suella Braverman was sacked because WMS she shared was deemed highly sensitive - it related to relaxing immigration rules & had significant implications for OBR
^^
No 10 only learned of it after she cc’d wrong person onto email in which she shared it

Well, yes, Jeremy Cut.

Has Truss u-turned on sacking Braverman yet?

DuncinToffee · 19/10/2022 18:16

No, Michael Green, eh Sebastian Fox, eh can't remember has just been officially announced

tobee · 19/10/2022 18:17

Sky showing Truss off somewhere but don't know where. Can't remember all the places she was supposed to be going to this week? Just House of Commons for vote?

jgw1 · 19/10/2022 18:18

Given the merry go round of ministers I must say I am disappointed that Govey, Govey Govey isn't back yet.

Apparently she sent an email to the press containing a document on immigration policy and slating the document. And accidentally copied in a ministerial colleague who reported her.

I got that from another thread.

countrygirl99 · 19/10/2022 18:29

If Braverman was concerned about the direction of the government she only had to wait a day or sofar it to change back again.
