The toddler has gone e to bed wearing her swimming costume... What's your "let it go" story? 😂

I couldn't think of any good reason for her not to when she asked and thought.... let it go! LOL. So she's happily snoozing away in a one piece!

Any times you've decided not to bother fighting/dying on a hill/gone "ah screw it"?

My good reason would have been what if she needs the toilet in the night.

My youngest is 18. My let it go list is so long I can't remember it.

Not mine but I did talk to one mum on a ski holiday whose son insisted on sleeping in his ski kit (boots, helmet, gloves, salopettes, the lot). He was only about 4

Ds1 had a fur fabric dinosaur outfit which he loved. Unfortunately it was always in the washing machine if we were going to a wedding etc.

When we lived in Asia and had a pool, a swim meant I could forgo bathtime that day.

My daughter goes to sleep with my hairbrush every night. She's nearly 3, and she loves the brush, but never lets me use it on her hair.

Meceme · 04/10/2022 18:32

My daughter went to sleep with her new wellies over her baby grow when she was about 2. Not worth the argument. I just used to slip them off when she was asleep.

One toddler is in bed wearing just vest and knickers but has a fluffy pair of thermal socks on her hands in case she gets cold. The other one has what seems like the entire contents on the toy box piled on top of him in bed

My friends daughter went to two of our friends weddings as Spider-Man. Best dressed one there. 😂

We were getting lunch at a deli.
3 year old wanted a roll with chicken goujon, black pudding and cheese in it. I let him have it and DH was disgusted.

^^this with my toddler ds. Not worth the upset at bedtime.

When my daughter was three, she was so devastated to discover her nipples wouldn’t be washed off in the bath that she insisted in wearing plasters over them 😂 I figured she may as well. The devastation was forgotten by breakfast time

LaurieFairyCake · 04/10/2022 18:42

67 Teddies all round her

She was 10 and I think she expected me to object but I just shrugged

Next day it was down to 25 as 'she couldn't turn over' Grin

By the end of the week back to one of them

procrastinatingtree · 04/10/2022 18:42

My 4 year old made an outfit out of plastic bags and insisted on wearing it all day

CastleTower · 04/10/2022 18:44

Literally "let it go" this week, as she's insisting on going to bed dressed as Elsa...

LaurieFairyCake · 04/10/2022 18:45

Teenage years were HILARIOUS

She once used an entire tube of black eye liner and dyed a piece of sheeting black and wrapped it round in a toga effect with a big belt

We watched her out the living room window departing - clutching ourselves in silent mirth til she'd left the street

We were literally weeping with laughter

She's 2. Sleeps through and wears a night nappy 🤷

So, so many that I can't remember them. Basically the only hills I would die on when the DC were little were a) eating only while sitting at the table; and b) going to bed and not getting up again unless they were ill. Anything else was in the 'let it go' category.

Can't wait to see DS15's face in the (probably not so distant future) when he looks back at his current haircut.

It is exactly what he asked for - it's the style (and I use the term advisedly) not a bad haircut.

DD had a cat outfit that she wore for every occasion and mufti day from 3-5 years old.
Then it was a dinosaur outfit (with a stuffed tail!) until she was 8.

SudocremOnEverything · 04/10/2022 18:54

My toddler went to nursery wearing his pyjama top this morning. It was clean enough (no breakfast traces etc) and I decided that it wasn’t worth fighting with him to get him go out a T-shirt on instead.

I took the clean T-shirt to nursery but they didn’t feel the need to change him either. So he’s still wearing it. He can have clean pyjamas after his bath. 🤣

That sounds really good. That's my kind of roll 😂

TellySavalashairbrush · 04/10/2022 19:01

my Now adult dd used to insist on going out in huge adult sunglasses , a size 12 gilet and wellingtons as part of her outfits when she was 4 years old. How I loved sharing that with her fiancé 🤣🤣

Doormatnomore · 04/10/2022 19:05

Ds was not a toddler when after a rough day at school I let him wear a snorkel and mask all afternoon and evening. Took the snorkel out to eat but other than that he wore it until bedtime.

ColinRobinsonsfamiliar · 04/10/2022 19:07

Toast. Cut into triangles because he asked for triangles.
2nd slice of toast made cut into squares because I knew it was coming.

ColinRobinsonsfamiliar · 04/10/2022 19:08
