The toddler has gone e to bed wearing her swimming costume... What's your "let it go" story? 😂

I couldn't think of any good reason for her not to when she asked and thought.... let it go! LOL. So she's happily snoozing away in a one piece!

Any times you've decided not to bother fighting/dying on a hill/gone "ah screw it"?

Also sleeping on the floor. DS2 used to sleep on the floor most nights. As long as he was asleep I really didn't care!

I let my almost 2 year old sleep with a bucket of potatoes the other day at nap time. He was obsessed with carrying them around and I didn't have the energy to extract them from him before nap and face the tantrum.

When DS was 5 he had a mid sleeper bed but most nights took his pillow & duvet and slept underneath it - can't possibly have been comfy but he's 14 now & can sleep anywhere.

DD2 used to go out wearing odd wellies, one was glittery purple with a pink sole other was yellow with a red sole - combined with her tinkerbell outfit she was a sight to behold wandering round Tesco Hmm

My 12yo dd wanted to sleep in the empty bath one night, I just said 'that will not be v comfortable but meh go for it' 🤷‍♀️ She padded it up with her duvet and pillows.

She did stay in it all night but didn't ask again!!

We were getting lunch at a deli.
3 year old wanted a roll with chicken goujon, black pudding and cheese in it. I let him have it and DH was disgusted.

Age three and liking Black Pudding!
What Wonderful child you have there.

DD insisted on drinking her water out of a cereal bowl rather than a cup or glass. At age 11 🙄

My niece used to go to bed in her swimming costume, cycle helmet and wellies boots, she would sleep all night, wellies were clean, so hey, no problem.

Daughter hates rain on her face and one winter when she was about 3 wanted to wear swimming goggles every time she stepped outside

InvincibleInvisibility · 05/10/2022 11:15

Ooh that reminds me about the mid sleeper.

Bought a mid sleeper for both Dses when they were 7 and 4 as they were sharing a room and they needed their own space. 6 months later we moved and they had a bedroom each.

Many nights they wanted to sleep on a mattress on the floor. In the end we sold the mid sleepers and bought them a double bed each.

When it comes to sleep we have played musical beds for years (2 adhd non sleepers) so our motto is "whatever needs doingyto maximise sleep for everyone "

I find it interesting that so many children are so attached to their wellies! What is it about them? Are they just more comfortable than other shoes or is it that they come in bright cheerful colours which children like?

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 05/10/2022 13:05

Must be the colours/dinosaurs, etc., @escapingthecity . Would never have happened in my olden-days childhood - all wellies were boring old black. We woz deprived!

Incrediblebuttrue · 05/10/2022 13:13

DS refused to wear long trousers at primary school. He wore shorts every single day, even in the snow. He still said his legs were too hot in trousers.

Dds are plain navy blue and would wear them all the time too. I think it's because they're not snug
