Styles which you just don't get or like!

Just that really, and just a bit of a light hearted rant!

I will admit that in the past I have worn both of these things so I get why people where them and I'm not directing it at anyone individually!
BUT I just cannot bare false eyelashes or really long hair extensions. They both just look SO uncomfortable, I
don't know how anyone can really relax wearing them.
Especially the look when half the eyelashes have fallen off and there are just massive clumps of lashes left 😳😳😳😳 I just do not get it it! Whhhhyyyyy do people do this?!

Anything buttoned up to the neck, especially polo shirts. I don’t know why but it just looks wrong.

I like it can look quite chic.
A little bit like a trainee vicar 😉

MintyGreenDreams · 28/09/2022 21:46

@Carpediem15 nope they've had the rollers in

midsomermurderess · 28/09/2022 21:57

DMs.

Skinny jeans! Mistakenly ordered a pair once - I thought what is actually a straight cut was skinny! so uncomfortable on the calves.

Unlike numerous PPs, my preferred cut is bootleg :) especially for smarter trousers.

Men that wear trousers that don't cover their ankles accompanied by formal shoes with no socks.

Yes, that makes me imagine sore, rubbed, red and smelly feet. Not a great look!

1994girl · 28/09/2022 22:07

Because they think they look more attractive when really they are just fake trollops.

Riverlee · 28/09/2022 22:13

Bra straps showing (it’s called Under-wear, not Overwear)
Black leggings that look a bit like tights

men wearing (usually grey) hoodies and tracksuit trousers

VeronicaBeccabunga · 28/09/2022 22:14

Three quarter length sleeves, so aging and unflattering - just hideous. Make you look as if you have stumpy little t-rex arms with fat wrists.
How are you supposed to put on a cardigan or coat? The stupid sleeves just bunch up underneath. *shudders

Similarly the slightly-too-short 'seven eighths' trousers. We used to mock sad geography teacher-types for wearing ankle swingers.

Precipice · 28/09/2022 22:20

Oh, on bra straps showing - my hate is for fabric that's so thin and unlined you can see the bra through it. I've seen a number of otherwise nice tops that were unbuyable for this reason.

Rosa1211 · 28/09/2022 22:26

Sunglasses worn on top of head when it isn't sunny, hasn't been sunny and isn't going to be sunny, i.e. night time. Polo shirt collars stood up, just why? This so called French tuck way of positioning shirts and jumpers into trousers and skirts.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 28/09/2022 22:26

I know they've already been mentioned but "mom jeans". I've never seen anyone look halfway decent in them. I often find those that criticise skinny jeans were these. It baffles me that they think it's a better look.

Painting and decorating fashion.

Further explanation?

Hangrysaurus · 28/09/2022 22:49

Those really baggy jeans that have come back in now
a straight leg jean, i maybe be converted but at the moment not a lover
anything kardashian esque
lip filler… it always seems to fill the space behind the lip
i know they aren’t in anymore but those trainer heel shoes, you know looks like it’s a trainer but has a concealed heel… they’re awful

You see I like a skinny jean but i like a mom jean too, high waisted ankle grazer

Dungarees. Human contraceptive

Hilarious 🤣

Men in flip flops. It makes my stomach turn 😆 but I know I'm being totally unreasonable.

Agreed. Gross! 🤮

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 28/09/2022 22:55

Those awful short white chunky boots that look like you’re off to do a shift at the abattoir.

Awoooga · 28/09/2022 23:06

Peplum
Scallop cut anything
High waist high cut swimwear

Gunner1510 · 28/09/2022 23:20

Anything bootcut

ultra low rise jeans (a-la early 2000’s) esp if they are bootcut….

Ballet flats, awful things, esp black rounded ones with a bow on the front. Extra awful when worn with jeans (yes, bootcut jeans!!! 🤣)

Crocs

Kitten heels…. Why just why?

Cheeselog · 28/09/2022 23:23

Long nails. I see women all the time with really long presumably fake nails and just think it seems so impractical! Even using their phones is awkward because they have to angle their fingers differently.

blockpavingismynightmare · 28/09/2022 23:43

I'm one of those people who admires things on others but wouldn't have it myself. Fashion is subjective and I can be swayed :)
I do not tend to judge unless man or woman wears trousers that are too short with socks and flat shoes. I mean.. why? Surely they are not even comfortable or warm. This is not fashion or stylish is it?

echt · 29/09/2022 00:36

Cold shoulder tops. They don't look good, no matter how lovely the shoulders poking out.

mellicauli · 29/09/2022 01:30

Fashion designed for cold weather that let in draughts:
Sleeveless coats
Cropped cardigans/jumpers
Peep toe boots
Cold Shoulder tops

Pointless

TheOnlyBeeInYourBonnet · 29/09/2022 01:40

I'm always a bit sad to see (and struggle to understand) things that incapacitate women in some way.

Lashes so long and heavy the owner blinks all the time.
Nails so long they have to be held at a weird angle to do normal things.
Shoes that can't be walked in freely.
Clothes so short/tight the wearer is clearly aware the whole time and fidgeting with them constantly.

I just think whyyyyyy? Why turn yourself into an ornament? I love clothes and grooming but never anything that's going to restrict my life and stop me functioning normally.

HundredYearsOfSolitude · 29/09/2022 08:08

Heavy make up - reminds me of drag queens
Fake lashes, hair extensions, lip fillers etc
Conspicuous designer labels
Thin black leggings where you can see the knickers underneath
