Styles which you just don't get or like!

Just that really, and just a bit of a light hearted rant!

I will admit that in the past I have worn both of these things so I get why people where them and I'm not directing it at anyone individually!
BUT I just cannot bare false eyelashes or really long hair extensions. They both just look SO uncomfortable, I
don't know how anyone can really relax wearing them.
Especially the look when half the eyelashes have fallen off and there are just massive clumps of lashes left 😳😳😳😳 I just do not get it it! Whhhhyyyyy do people do this?!

Adult women in summer wear known as "playsuits"

pantherrose · 28/09/2022 17:57

I know it's popular, but skirts and dresses worn with ankle boots only works if you have supermodelish mile long legs like twigs. If not, It makes perfectly normal legs look short and stumpy and ruins an otherwise stylish dress or skirt.

I8toys · 28/09/2022 17:59

Painting and decorating fashion.

What do you wear in rain and cold weather?

Housewife2010 · 28/09/2022 18:04

Jumpers tucked into jeans/trousers, highlighter on the tip of the nose, overdrawn lip liner, current swimwear trend where half the arse is bare.

pantherrose · 28/09/2022 18:04

@Kissingfrogs25
Rain or bad weather - jeans and boots. If I had to wear a dress or skirt in bad weather then long elegant boots, not ankle boots.

Coastalcreeksider · 28/09/2022 18:06

I'm really old fashioned as I only like nails painted in one colour not half a dozen different colours with decorative bits on some of them.

Also those horrible really long fake nails, how on earth do you wipe yourself after going to the loo without doing your nether regions an injury. Ugh!

SudocremOnEverything · 28/09/2022 18:09

Horrible, long, straggly beards.

Titsflyingsouth · 28/09/2022 18:15

I hate how 'fake' a lot of the younger women around my area look these days. Especially loathe:

Trout Pout
Heavily contoured foundation - especially if it is orange.

Massive black drawn on eyebrows

Remember a few years back a fashion for Juicy sweatpants, often in Barbie pink with 'Juicy' written across the butt. I would gladly gather every last pair of those and throw on a giant bonfire

ellieboolou · 28/09/2022 18:23

Long puffa style coats to the ankle, sports leggings with sports socks pulled up halfway up the leg - seems to be the school mum uniform at the moment.

Matching crop leggings and sports crop tops meant for the gym

Dresses with trainers

Furry gilets

Woolly hats worn perched on top of heads so there is a big gap of hat between head and top of hat - feel like pulling it over their eyes!

Man buns

thecatsthecats · 28/09/2022 18:27

Bootcut jeans. Just reminds me of being in year 6, and in my head, it means the person hasn't changed their style since they were ten.

QueenWenceslas · 28/09/2022 18:30

Flesh coloured leggings - why, just why?

Furry slides/socks with sliders

Cropped jumpers - if I’m cold enough to wear a jumper I don’t want my middle exposed!

sunglassesonthetable · 28/09/2022 18:35

Grey interiors
grey walls
grey sofas
grey carpet

make it go away

And I love a slider and a sock

I'll never understand why the mullet came back in style for men. In ten years time, the teenage boys I teach are going to look at pictures of themselves from this period and cringe.

Tbh, that’s true for most teenagers whatever the current style. We all looks crap too. 🤣

Prescottdanni123 · 28/09/2022 18:45

@SudocremOnEverything

Its not just teenagers though. I see a lot of grown men going around with mullets as well.

Precipice · 28/09/2022 18:46

Oh, I like a gillet! I don't feel the cold easily, so I like to have something for when I'm too chilly in one layer and would be too warm in another.

Things I particularly don't like:

  • cropped tops or too short trousers. I'm tall so often find that both tops and trousers are too short on me, so having them deliberately made too short for most makes it even harder
  • basically any strong make-up, but in particular this very heavy 'chavvy' look: orange-ish foundation, long fake lashes caked in mascara, lips that look like you've been stung by a wasp. Long talons for nails. I find this actually disconcerting to look at
  • cap sleeves! either put a proper short sleeve on your top or just leave it sleeveless
  • fake pockets. Put real pockets or don't, but don't pretend to. Similarly, those pathetic tiny pockets in a lot of trousers for women - I mostly buy men's trousers for this reason, but there's a pair I'm considering (cords) that I'm going to try extending the pockets in and hope it stitches up okay
  • polyester everywhere - okay, maybe not a ~style.
Kissingfrogs25 · 28/09/2022 18:49

Baggy jeans on overweight men that sag past the bum crack and we get the most pleasing view of his sagging, spot riddled crusty rear end. Buy a belt!! Or a pair of jeans that fit you.

TheAntiTruss · 28/09/2022 18:52

The bucket hat.

zukiecat · 28/09/2022 18:55

Culottes
Wide Trousers
Short Trousers

Any trousers really!

Leopard/Animal print
T Shirts
Black clothing
Track suits

Sure there's more!

stickynoter · 28/09/2022 18:57

CookPassBabtridge · 28/09/2022 17:16

I wear magnetic lashes everyday and they're comfortable and never fall off, so much easier than constantly applying mascara which then looks lumpy! They make my eyes look fantastic and I feel good, that's what its all about isn't it?
I always have acrylic nails which mamy don't like. Never had hair extentions.

I have never understood thongs! I lasted a minute in them when I tried one on 😆

Change of subject, but What magnetic lashes do you use? Been wanting to try them but seen such mixed reviews! Tia

love4189 · 28/09/2022 18:57

beanie hats
bucket hats
cardigans
sports wear when not playing sport or in the gym
fake lashes, nails, tan, extensions
blue or pink hair
slogan t-shirts

the80sweregreat · 28/09/2022 18:57

Blue hair ! It's just a no

cravattwat · 28/09/2022 19:04

Ooh, I want to play! 😄

Knee high/over the knee boots. So ugly.

Bootcut jeans.

Cold shoulder tops.

Athleisure unless you're actually going to yoga.

Face/neck tattoos.

Anything with butterflies on.

Steampunk. Your glasses or cogs on your hat make you look like a total bellend mate.

@Titsflyingsouth it was around 20 years ago depressingly early 2000s
