Can anyone identify the creature leaving this poo on my lawn?

big patch of it, more appearing every night. Live quite rurally with woods near. Each poo is about 5cm diameter.

would like to know as it’s literally right in the middle of the fecking lawn and now becoming an issue to mow etc!!

Can anyone identify the creature leaving this poo on my lawn?

I'm googling 🤣

@sweatyannie - I wonder why in your pic that the fox poo is on a croc?

demogorgan · 25/09/2022 14:31

Owl poop?

Mykittensmittens · 25/09/2022 14:32

Quite tempted to get a camera.

it’s the behaviour thing - it’s weird. Lawn is very big - 250ft by 40ft and these poos are in one patch in the centre, very exposed. Whoever has gifted them is coming back to the same specific spot day (or night) after day and doing more. Like a cat would do? Not like a goose or a pigeon who just poo anywhere.

You need a trail camera.

Mykittensmittens · 25/09/2022 14:35

@PlatinumBrunette rural Staffordshire. Miles from any waterways or bodies of water. Lawn described above. At the end of the garden there are some wild woods then open fields.

We do have foxes, hedgehogs, owls (but no trees above the poo) no pets and neighbours don’t have cats. Lots of birds including buzzards etc.

😂😂😂

sweatyannie · 25/09/2022 14:39

@Furball 🤣

Urban foxes around our way would either run off with any shoes left outside or shit on them. Just like the photo !

OP definitely trail camera. Its really interesting to see what goes on in the garden at night !

Mykittensmittens · 25/09/2022 14:39

I hope not 😂

Fox, marking it territory.

strawberriesarenot · 25/09/2022 14:42

cat

Furball · 25/09/2022 14:42

@sweatyannie 😂

OhAmBackAgain · 25/09/2022 14:43

definitely looks like geese poo, but you sais its not possible. you need to set a wild life camera up, I think they are quite cheap.

Furball · 25/09/2022 14:45

@sweatyannie - must be a croc of shite😂

sueelleker · 25/09/2022 14:47

Badger?

BotterMon · 25/09/2022 14:48

No idea but would like to know. Not bird poo.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 25/09/2022 14:52

Badger? They are sloppy and sometimes stinky. The usually dig a latrine/dip to do their business in, but maybe it’s a baby or your lawn has a natural dip.

Adultchildofelderlyparents · 25/09/2022 14:52

Agree it looks like geese. You don't need to be near a pond, they could be migrating and you are a halfway stop. Set up a camera!

CandidaAlbicans2 · 25/09/2022 15:17

@sweatyannie love that the fox poo picture is a dirty protest against Crocs 😆

FindingMeno · 25/09/2022 18:47

Maybe it is something like a stoat then?
Maybe they go back to the same location because it smells right ( like a cat will often go back to the same place with accidents in the house)

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 25/09/2022 18:53

I think it's wood pigeons too - I get identical poo on my car

Fox, marking it territory.

That's not fox poo. (I volunteer for The Fox Project, I've seen a LOT of fox poo)

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 25/09/2022 18:57

I've just read that pigeons really like clover - perhaps that but of lawn has the most clover and they're spending time there eating it?

Same. And I agree.

OP they are splats from above, not things that have come out of a low-to-the-ground bottom. So bird, not mammal.

Maybe a load of birds that fly over together? But really, it is just like my garden of pigeon shite.
