big patch of it, more appearing every night. Live quite rurally with woods near. Each poo is about 5cm diameter.

would like to know as it’s literally right in the middle of the fecking lawn and now becoming an issue to mow etc!!

Can anyone identify the creature leaving this poo on my lawn?

Just checked - 17 triggers in total. Me. The preciously seen squirrel. Two blanks (nothing visible) and the rest are me setting it up.

but there is MORE poo! With more white in it this time! Would that correlate with next doors convinces pheasant theory?

I didn’t photograph it was pissing down. I’ll try again later.

i’m starting to think I’ll never know.

The plot thickens....

Mykittensmittens · 01/10/2022 08:29

Okay!!!! Okay!!!

I can’t see one, but the back windows are open a bit due to condensation.

and I can hear a pheasant. It’s such a distinctive call - and it’s close! Camera is charging but I am certain. Next door says there is a pair of jeuvenille male pheasants who sit on our joint fence - I can’t see that particular part as it’s obscured by a hedge!!!

is this it? Camera will go back out later!

This is fascinating who needs Midsummer Murders when you have this

Badgers leave lots of poo about can’t remember what it looks like but they are very noisy and not sure they would both making a toilet area for themselves

ilovebagpuss · 01/10/2022 09:25

Roosting pheasant maybe dropping poo from his perch. I'm sure someone has said but the white in poo only comes from a bird species. I thought mammal before but now I'm sure it's a bird. Hope you get a pic.

For the love of God, can someone please post this on Twitter for the OP so we get an answer? I’d do it myself but I don’t use Twitter 🙈

I've discovered today that the wood pigeon who visits are garden shits in the bird bath !

Oooh love this thread 😂 I'm going with pheasant too after googling poo pictures. Wonder why they go for the same spot, birds are usually everywhere shitters.

Mykittensmittens · 01/10/2022 14:24

This thread is a beacon of joy and hope in a world of misery and madness. Thank you OP.

I'm from a 'hunting, shooting, fishing' family. We also rear common pheasants.

Definitely looks like common pheasant poo. They are prolific. The first pics look more runny. That usually happens when they are a bit poorly / nut quite getting their correct grain diet. Latest pics look more healthy.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 02/10/2022 08:31

*not quite getting right diet

Mykittensmittens · 02/10/2022 12:06

Well I am very sure it’s pheasants. I’m assuming they like acorns - further down the lawn are so many acorns I can’t begin to tell you. We raked them yesterday and filled 5 buckets to the brim.

I can’t figure out why the camera isn’t triggering and they’re def not pooing from above. But I’ve heard pheasants, seen them months ago, next door have seen them and I’ve no clues as to anything else!

however, my next question is how I stop this heinous crime - I really need to mow the lawn and mowing over that isn’t going be good. How does one deter a toileting pheasant?!

Bear traps

Beer traps might be better, or even wine. They can marinade themselves over several days then pass out on a baking tray...
