The Queens funeral

This is a real good guide for all the timings for tomorrow - www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-60617519

The bit at the end with the Lord Chamberlain will be the hardest to watch I think, signaling the end of his service to her, as will the act of separating her from her crown.

I know everyone isn't a royalist but today will be such a sad occasion.

I wonder how they decided the order of arrival?

wonderstuff · 19/09/2022 10:28

The choreography of getting people to arrive at the right time and knowing who everyone is and where to seat them, can’t imagine how they managed it.

Do you think May put her husband next to Boris to avoid speaking to him?!

Lol! It's PM, spouse, PM, spouse etc, nothing so controversial!

DysonSpheres · 19/09/2022 10:28

Trudeau has a face that just naturally looks bored (to me anyway)

IpanemaChic · 19/09/2022 10:28

London does look particularly stunning.

DrAddisonForbesMontgomery · 19/09/2022 10:28

Carrie Johnson looks fantastic

Liz Truss always makes me think shes going to burst out laughing. It might be a nervous thing but I always feel like she looks really awkward.

stillherenow · 19/09/2022 10:29

Can you imagine being head of security for the Abbey.

Jeez

TugboatAnnie · 19/09/2022 10:29

Actually that's not true. Cameron and May are next to each other

Benefi · 19/09/2022 10:29

The crowd are applauding cars leaving Buckingham Palace.

I'd like to think that they will stay silent for the procession, but I suspect they will clap and whoop. Imagine people cheering the coffin of your dead relative :(

Zosime · 19/09/2022 10:29

If you goto the iPlayer there is a no commentary version

Is there a no commentary version available when watching online? I haven't been able to find one.

I know! It was bad enough doing the seating plan for my wedding!

Changingmynameyetagain · 19/09/2022 10:30

Have they covered all the grids with sand? Is that to stop them moving?

stillherenow · 19/09/2022 10:29

Jeez

That must be a hell of a job! I was imagining being the person who has to guide them to their seats, I'd be nervous enough doing that!

Vapeyvapevape · 19/09/2022 10:31

I wish people wouldn't cheer , can't they keep their bloody traps shut !

Pyjamagame · 19/09/2022 10:31

Disrespectful to cheer (I feel).

MarshaBradyo · 19/09/2022 10:32

Oh those cars - so nice

Northernlurker · 19/09/2022 10:32

The cheering is support. The London crowd cheered Elizabeth all her life, if it happens now it's ok with me

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 19/09/2022 10:32

Pyjamagame · 19/09/2022 10:31

I think so too. It's a funeral after all.

cakeorwine · 19/09/2022 10:32

That applause is just wrong.

It's a funeral. Not a Coronation.

RedToothBrush · 19/09/2022 10:33

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 19/09/2022 10:25

Does the Abbey have toilets? I wouldn't be able to wait for hours before the loo, maybe none have drunk anything before. It'd be so awkward to need the loo once seated!

It's notorious for this. Once you are in, you are in. I think its not really an option to go...

Benefi · 19/09/2022 10:33

What is wrong with people?

ApolloandDaphne · 19/09/2022 10:33

I think the cheering, clapping and waving let's the royal family know the people are there with them. I think the royals are waving back in acknowledgement.

EmmaH2022 · 19/09/2022 10:34

No, it’s part of security

i haven’t got the tv on yet but I think there’s something more solid under the sand.

Doyoumind · 19/09/2022 10:34

I can't believe people think it's ok to cheer. I'm not particularly invested in the whole thing but ffs it's utterly disrespectful to cheer at someone on the day of their mother's funeral.

EmmaH2022 · 19/09/2022 10:34

Sorry, the security answer was for this.
