This is a real good guide for all the timings for tomorrow - www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-60617519

The bit at the end with the Lord Chamberlain will be the hardest to watch I think, signaling the end of his service to her, as will the act of separating her from her crown.

I know everyone isn't a royalist but today will be such a sad occasion.

Love how Biden had to wait for others!

All of these archaic outfits must look strange to Americans.

I think most other nations including America are in awe of them. The formality and pomp of it all. It truly is amazing when you think about it. It's part of what makes us special and appealing to the rest of the world.

Heyyebskeikwbevg · 19/09/2022 10:11

Thank you for confirming @GoodbyeLilibet i missed that the (Catholic) Archbishop is involved

SaltyCrisp · 19/09/2022 10:12

Is there a channel where I can watch and listen to the marching bands? I'm sick of Huw's waffling and shots of dignitaries rocking up at the Abbey!

cakeorwine · 19/09/2022 10:12

US Secret service must be out of their comfort zone

Benefi · 19/09/2022 10:12

I've just seen an estimate of 4.1 billion people watching this across the globe.

Same!

Aren't these military marches absolutely exquisite?
Anyone on here whose partner/family member is marching today - I just want to pass on my personal thanks & appreciation of them. The hard work, the exhaustion (from rehearsing at 3:45am every day!), the skill, and most likely the nerves...! It's an heroic effort in my eyes.

Yes.

stillherenow · 19/09/2022 10:13

They're not going to talk over the procession, good decision.

sagalooshoe · 19/09/2022 10:14

@Benefi I've found it- oh thank you so much , that's lovely and peaceful now. Phew

Benefi · 19/09/2022 10:14

I'll add a note of recognition to everyone volunteering in London, many from around the UK - The Samaritans, St John Ambulance, pastors etc.

They must be having complete kittens. It's funny.

Bouledeneige · 19/09/2022 10:15

At least if a terrorist tried something today in Westminster there's plenty of armed soldiers there to deal with them.

Yes that's great. He's just said so 👍🏻

Benefi · 19/09/2022 10:15

Huw reckons they're not going to talk over the footage. We'll see.

Two men just walked in sporting shoes and sandles?

I can only wear trainers due to severe arthritis in my feet. It's caused embarrassment at times when people like you have commented on it. Maybe they have feet issues. If the rest of them is appropriately dressed, the footwear is ok.

RedToothBrush · 19/09/2022 10:18

Macron flitting through the order of service. You can almost hear him thinking, 'bloody hell, this is going to be long, boring and soo sooo ENGLISH'

Mooserp · 19/09/2022 10:18

I saw on the funeral invitation it specified 'no swords' 😄

TugboatAnnie · 19/09/2022 10:19

We've never had anything like it before and won't again. The culmination of 10 days of beautifully executed pomp and ceremony. Well done to all those involved, the Queen would be so proud. Luckily I'm retired, over a week of 24/7 TV and going on a month's touring holiday of Scotland tomorrow, have done no prep, no accommodation, nothing! I'm hoping to have a few hours later 😱

stillherenow · 19/09/2022 10:19

Why are they making the former PMs wait?

Didn't Macron turn up for the lying in state in trainers, yesterday?

(sorry to go on about him twice in a row)

The RC church is being represented by the Papal Nuncio, Archbishop Paul Gallagher, Cardinal Vincent Nichols, Archbishop's Mark O'Toole of Cardiff, and the Archbishop of either Glasgow or Edinburgh. Can't remember which. Presume the cardinal and archbishop s will be in the procession. I've been sent a screenshot of the Nuncio in his seat.

bellac11 · 19/09/2022 10:20

I turned it on late, about 930, hope I didnt miss anything, I love the marching and bands and love the outfits. Love kilts and their little white bootie things

Im not a monarchist but you can still enjoy these things as part of our cultural heritage and traditions. Ive just learned for example that the navy pulling the gun carriage was caused by Queen Victorias horses playing up and so it was suggested the navy take over and we've done it since. Little things like that are interesting to me.

Vapeyvapevape · 19/09/2022 10:22

The organisation is amazing.

HansZimmerframe · 19/09/2022 10:22

Carrie Johnson and Samantha Cameron look lovely. Although I do wonder if Carrie's dress is a bit low for the occasion. But I love it
