This is a real good guide for all the timings for tomorrow - www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-60617519

The bit at the end with the Lord Chamberlain will be the hardest to watch I think, signaling the end of his service to her, as will the act of separating her from her crown.

I know everyone isn't a royalist but today will be such a sad occasion.

I love the matching.

They couldn’t have been more lucky with the weather. It wouldn’t have been quite the same if it was throwing it down.

Wonder who's making the ham sandwiches?

’144 white baps, Meghan, you slice, I’ll butter.’

Wasn't Diana's a state funeral?

Hers was a ceremonial funeral. As was the Queen Mother’s.

the last state funeral was Winston Churchill’s

PizzaFunghi · 19/09/2022 12:21

The bbc camera looks like it needs a clean - a weird yellow spot on it that makes the person in that position look oddly yellow compared to the uniforms next to it.

littlbrowndog · 19/09/2022 12:21

The beat of the drums

Bouledeneige · 19/09/2022 12:22

Marching

Belledan1 · 19/09/2022 12:22

Shame people in he Abbey missing the procession. I think that is more emotional.

The glint from the jewels as the sun hits them 😍

No

TugboatAnnie · 19/09/2022 12:22

@JustLyra Beatrice definitely sat next to Harry and Meghan!

inigomontoyahwillcox · 19/09/2022 12:22

The Canadian Mounties and their horses look amazing.

Punkypinky · 19/09/2022 12:22

What are the white feathers in the hats of the guards?

mostlydrinkstea · 19/09/2022 12:22

@Bouledeneige this is a very traditional CofE funeral. There is no family tribute and memories in such a service. In the old BCP service the deceased is not named and is referred to as brother or sister. This changed after the first war.

Benefi · 19/09/2022 12:22

With the exception of the admirable bearer party, I'm underwhelmed.

What did you want? Marching bands?

TugboatAnnie · 19/09/2022 12:22

Diana's was a ceremonial funeral

FGS it was state funeral, not your Nan’s send off.

Ok. Next time I'll add 'in my humble opinion '

spanieleyes · 19/09/2022 12:23

There's a committal service at Windsor and then family internment, the first two are state occasions and so formal, I'm sure the family stories will come out later!

FGS it was state funeral, not your Nan’s send off.

My grandmothers send off was much nicer.
I hope they have a decent private funeral.

HeidiWhole · 19/09/2022 12:23

Crumbs the RF are walking behind again. I bet they can't wait for a proper sit down

Romeiswheretheheartis · 19/09/2022 12:23

I wonder what they'd have done if it was pouring with rain? They wouldn't have let the coffin get soaked, surely?

RAFOfficer · 19/09/2022 12:23

BruceAndNosh · 19/09/2022 12:21

I'm sure there's a protocol reason but interesting that most but not all in ceremonial uniform are wearing black armbands

Yes, I think only Commissioned Officers and possibly Warrant Officers are wearing black armbands today

FGS it was state funeral, not your Nan’s send off.

But she was the People's Nan. People are mourning the carefully cultivated persona.

The glint from the jewels as the sun hits them 😍

Yes, when you see all the colours refracting - amazing.
