Prince Edward

There’re threads about Charles, Andrew and Anne, but none about Edward. Why is that? He was in his older siblings shadow, no heir like Charles, no Olimpian like Anne and no dashing was hero like Andrew. Seen as a joke with his tv programs failure. Yet he came up as the most stable out of Queen’s children. The only one, who manage to create happy marriage, stayed away from
scandals, he did his service without holding grunge against his lower royal position. I like his wife Sophie too. I think they both deserve more credit that is given to them.

I see, thanks for the details!

So James might well get it then, if he wants that sort of thing when he's older.

So in theory - although I realise (hope) it's unlikely to happen, could Charles change the Duke of York's title so that it is inherited by his eldest daughter?

No, as it was created to pass to sons. It can’t be changed without being re-created and it can’t be re-created until Andrew dies.

Surely they must run out of Duke titles?

As I think that eventually they'd want to create Duke titles for the Cambridge kids, even if it is in 20 years time.

Does York get passed down, or recirculated? Although it's a bit tainted. 😐

It is something they’ll be thinking about.

York will come back unless Andrew has a son.

However, Kent and Gloucester will no longer be royal Dukedoms as when they pass down from tbt current dukes. Sussex too in time unless neither Archie or Lily have sons.

They won’t run out as they can create new ones if they want, but ones with history are more limited.

Edward and Sophie did a walk about in Windsor.

He seemed reluctant to do it and I'm sure he said to Sophie something like " going down there is quite far" i'e too far.

There were some nuns and he directly went straight to them which I found odd.
He asked where they were from and one said pinewood.
Whether that was from near pinewood or...from pinewoods studio and incostume who knows. But one kissed his hand which didn't seem holy?

Sophie looked a little awkward and embarrassed by him.

Unfortunately Sophie also went straight to them.
I didn't get a good vibe off him, that's fine...it maybe excruciating for him.

Maybe he's having a tough day, after all, he's just lost his Mum and been in the public eye every day since.

He was absolutely lovely to DD when she was volunteering at an event at Buckingham Palace. He asked her opinion on something, which she didn't expect!
