90s Body Shop products they should bring back!

I’m in a nostalgic mood.
Probably like most 90s teens I loved the Body Shop back in the day and wish they’d bring back some of my favourites which were:

Cucumber cleanser- loved the scent so much, takes me right back to summer

Passion fruit cleanser- smelt gorgeous, had a really nice texture too

Fuzzy peach & Dewberry perfume- classic first perfumes!

Also does anyone miss those fruit shaped Soaps?

What products do you wish they’d bring back?

@RoseLavenderBlue thank you for naming Viennese Chalk. I had it as one of my products to bring back when I posted on this thread back in September last year but I couldn't remember the name. I also remembered it as tiny balls of the clay.

Carmargo · 13/10/2023 07:59

So they used to sell perfumes called Annie AND Ananya.

Seems I did not misremember (?)

I don't see the point of The Body Shop anymore.

It's neither one thing or the other.

They'd do well to have one old product brought back for a month on a rolling basis and advertise it heavily so us over 35s can get all nostalgic.

If they brought back Annie, I'd buy it.

I also liked the fact that you could buy the size of bottle that you needed, think there were 3 or more sizes 60ml,120ml,200ml and maybe a 500ml. This was on all cleansers, shampoos, conditioners, body lotions etc. You could also get the same bottle refilled or recycled in store. The original owner Anita Roddick was ahead of her time!

I remember the aloe vera hair gel, was good for curly hair!

@Ivesaidenough yes the orchid cleanser, I loved that too, also used it as an eye makeup remover, very gentle, no stinging.

@Carmargo bringing the products back on a rolling monthly special basis would be a great idea. It does seem to have lost it's unique selling point and direction as a business now.

❤️ Reading this thread was a trip down the memory Lane of products. If I concentrate hard I can remember the smells.

i loved the Ayurveda range - Pita. This wasn’t around for long, well it was for me as I bought a massive amount of it when it was discontinued at £1 per item and I went on a shopping rampage.

chocolate orange bath oil and the coconut polar bear soaps.

and of course dewberry and white musk that were cult-like must haves.

Shinyandnew1 · 14/10/2023 08:17

They did a really nice dry oil body spray in a brown glass bottle that smelt divine. Can’t remember what it was called though.

Everything seemed affordable on pocket money prices which you can’t say of the Body Shop now!

KillingMeDeftly · 14/10/2023 08:30

The 90s lip balms. Not the sticky messes they have now.

listsandbudgets · 14/10/2023 08:53

the satsuma shower gel, banana shampoo and conditioner, bath pearls, little fruit soaps especially the apple amd strawberry, fuzzy peach..

Not been in for ages but last time I went the prices were ridiculous, it seemed to be stuff you could get anywhere and the staff were harassing me. also it was just not fun. The average 80s body shop.was full of colour and interesting little bit

if they brought in a. 80s range I might be tempted in

HappyAsASandboy · 14/10/2023 11:28

Peppermint Foot Lotion!

PinkFatball · 13/02/2024 16:43

Oceananus and White Musk oils

newtb · 13/02/2024 16:59

Their strawberry body shampoo was great. It was soapless and once got tomato stains out of a cream silk top I splattered with bolognaise sauce.
Was good in the bath, too.

acatcalledjohn · 13/02/2024 17:17

It's all moot now though, isn't it.

Sad for the job losses, but Natura have a lot to answer for.

Trusttheprocess1 · 13/02/2024 19:08

I loved their Vetiver scent- it was one of the oils. When it was discontinued my then partner drove to all the Bodyshops near us to buy up every bottle! Body shop in the 80s and 90s was a great shop with amazing ethics thanks to Anita R.

BeverleyMacker · 13/02/2024 19:38

Passion fruit cleansing gel
Papier pudre
Ice shampoo
The perfume bar
Animal soaps
Elderflower eye gel
Ananya
Dewberry
White musk spray before it went vegan and now smells horrible
Coconut perfume oil
Burriti baby

LimeTreeGrove · 14/02/2024 12:10

The original banana conditioner they had in the 80s/90s that seemed like it had banana pulp in it. The more recent one was nothing like it.

LimeTreeGrove · 14/02/2024 12:10

Kiwi lip balm

LimeTreeGrove · 14/02/2024 12:11

Cocoa butter body lotion

OrlandointheWilderness · 14/02/2024 12:23

Banana conditioner.
Sunblock that was like sudacrem. No rays we're getting through that sucker.
Little pink pig sparkly bath oil things.

ssd · 14/02/2024 12:31

They did a beautiful lavender range for a while, smelled lovely

OneLimeBird · 13/08/2024 16:25

they had a parsley face mask in 1994 that was phenomenal. it helped me clear so many breakouts as a teen... and oceana oil for the little terracotta burner...

Marcipex · 14/08/2024 12:36

The Samarkand perfume oil. I still cherish an empty bottle.
