90s Body Shop products they should bring back!

I’m in a nostalgic mood.
Probably like most 90s teens I loved the Body Shop back in the day and wish they’d bring back some of my favourites which were:

Cucumber cleanser- loved the scent so much, takes me right back to summer

Passion fruit cleanser- smelt gorgeous, had a really nice texture too

Fuzzy peach & Dewberry perfume- classic first perfumes!

Also does anyone miss those fruit shaped Soaps?

What products do you wish they’d bring back?

They used to do refills if you brought your empty bottles in. Must have saved so much plastic!

The wooden hairbrushes with the metal pins. They were absolutely the best thing for my thick hair, no static. I finally found a similar product a couple of years ago on Amazon (and there are lots of comments on there saying how happy people are to have found a brush similar to the ones they used to buy from BS in the 90s).
The cocoa butter range, especially the lip balm.

Aside from that, I miss the original formulations of things, without being packed full of SLS cheap foaming agents. I also miss their original ethics - sensible prices, no animal testing, etc. It's just another overpriced toiletries shop now.

I remember when Anita Roddick talked of empowering women , who worked to supply ingredients, in many and varied parts of the world.
Such ethics.

The shop has come a long way since then... for the worse.

Our local branch always seems empty when I walk past ( don't bother going in anymore as the products are inferior and overpriced.)
I also hate the hard sell tactics.

As I - even now - have difficult skin, I'd love to see

Carrot moisturiser and carrot oil

Sage and comfrey spot gel

And they had a cleanser, I can't remember the name of it, but it was like tiny balls of dried clay that you mixed with water. It had the same effect as a £50 facial every time you used it. Made my skin look fabulous.

Rights for women.

Also dewberry and starflower.

Kiwi fruit lip balm! And the passion fruit cleanser....I've just started using the Method shower glass cleaning spray which smells exactly like it, made me all nostalgic. Managed not to wash my face with it tho thankfully 😁

Loved the peach range. Pricey now. I got a lovely s/gel last year winter jasmine. I loved dewberry as a teen

I loved the elderflower eye gel, Ananya perfume, the original White Musk perfume and the peach one. Also loved the oat/grain scrub, had a gorgeous smell. I went into a Body Shop branch the other day but it just wasn’t the same, sadly.

None. I'd rather they shut it down.

They did the most gorgeous round moulded soaps, almost transparent, which smelt amazing. I can't remember the name but I would love to see them back.

I also really miss their Fuji green tea shampoo and conditioner, which they discontinued a year or so ago :(

Don't think anyone else has mentioned this but the Body Shop should definitely bring back the original White Musk Oil instead of that shit vegan White Musk Oil they now sell. If anyone from BS HQ is reading this * IT DOESN'T SMELL THE SAME * and I couldn't care less about the product being vegan. Apparently the honey has been removed 🙄

I've asked in every Body Shop I've passed for any of the original, non vegan version but it's already been sold to all the others seeking it out. Managed to get some on ebay :)

Why a business would mess with one of their most successful products is beyond me.

Kiwi lip balm.

Surely the company would make a lot of money if it reintroduced some of its old products (made with the same recipes, of course). Women aged 35+ would be there in droves and I bet they’d win some new teen customers too.

Oh this thread brings back memories. I loved The Body Shop in the 90's.
My favourites were the animal soaps especially the polar bear one.
I also loved the liquorice and satsuma bubble baths.

The fuji green tea was lovely. I still have some of that. Dp takes it away with her and I get really annoyed.
The grapefruit shower gel was good too - haven't seen that lately.

Oh yes and the hairbrushes. Totally agree. I still have some.
American Girl Place sells wire wig brushes for the dolls and they're similar and handbag sized.
Not as rugged though.

Bath pearls and the cucumber water… so loved that stuff 💔

Banana shampoo and conditioner.

I used to love it all as a teenager

They used to make up gift baskets you could choose what went in and one year I was about 12/13 and my auntie got me a basket made with all my favourites in it - I remember being very excited about it!

Body Shop used to be really good for sticking fillers. Lip balm, mirror in a drawer string bag. Used to make a lovely gift.

I haven't been inside a shop for 20yrs, but I used to LOVE it as an early teen. No idea what they sell now?

• I loved the white musk back then
• For a time loved a vanilla fragrance, but not sure I would now
• They had a tiny roller, like an underarm deodorant as big as a little finger, but it had lavender and oils to roll into the temples to help you sleep. I only ran out of this recently but haven't found anything similar since.

carrot facial oil which they sold with a little metal tool to squeeze blackheads with!

I still have my body shop hair brush!! It almost got confiscated airport security due to the metal prongs but luckily they let it go.

Samarkand perfume. I miss it every day.
