90s Body Shop products they should bring back!

I’m in a nostalgic mood.
Probably like most 90s teens I loved the Body Shop back in the day and wish they’d bring back some of my favourites which were:

Cucumber cleanser- loved the scent so much, takes me right back to summer

Passion fruit cleanser- smelt gorgeous, had a really nice texture too

Fuzzy peach & Dewberry perfume- classic first perfumes!

Also does anyone miss those fruit shaped Soaps?

What products do you wish they’d bring back?

Yes to Japanese Washing Grains, plus another facial cleanser called Viennese Chalk which was very fine white powder that you mixed with water to wash your face with. It made your face so soft. I used to love their beech lip pencil, it was a great neutral pinky brown. The last one I bought (when BS had gone downhill) was so bad. It was hard and dragged across your lips, I couldn’t get any colour from it. Their make up brushes with the wooden handles, I’ve still got some going strong.

Lots already mentioned - kiwi lip balm, passion fruit cleansing gel, Japanese washing grains, Moonflower and Ananya.

They've done some great rose fragranced stuff over the years - Tea Rose, Moroccan Rose, Atlas Mountain Rose - but discontinued them all in favour of the generic British Rose.

It went to shit as a brand long ago. And they don’t like women.

Passionfuit face wash (the best product ever made for removing makeup)
Ice blue shampoo
Banana Shampoo and Conditioner
Japanese washing grains
Chamomile hair dye
Raspberry ripple bubble bath
Licorice bubble bath
Papier poudre (or something like that - a little book of oil absorbing face powder sheets
Mango perfume
Peppermint foot lotion.

They bought a few back about 10 years ago temporarily. They really need to go back to basics.

Coconut perfume oil and the perfume oil bar. Papier pudre sheets in a notebook for blotting your nose.

Annie, fuzzy peach and wood musk…. These are late 80’s Bodyshop perfumes. Loved them

I also had one of these. It was a Christmas present from my Auntie and I loved it.

Tobacco flower range (cant think why they discontinued that!). Used to be able to find it in their discount stores for about a year after they stopped making it. I loved that smell.

Hugosauras · 12/10/2023 22:23

Another gem was Milk Bath.

SameagainasIs · 12/10/2023 22:23

I got some pale blue moon shaped ?clay radiator magnets once in a set with white musk oil i think maybe 1994/1995? I used to love them and my room smelt lovely as the radiator would heat them up I had them for about 10 years !!!

IdaPrentice · 12/10/2023 22:23

They had a 'blue corn' face mask / scrub in a pot that was excellent for dealing with spots. I was gutted when it disappeared.

BethDuttonsTwin · 12/10/2023 22:24

All the perfume oils - Fuzzy Peach, Dewberry, White Musk. Such amazing quality for the price, great staying power. Absolutely loved them.

Rum raisin lip balm

BethDuttonsTwin · 12/10/2023 22:26

I never set foot in The Body Shop these days. I'd live there if they brought all the old classics back.

Ivesaidenough · 12/10/2023 22:30

I'd forgotten the blue corn mask! I loved that. I used a cleanser of theirs for years, it was called white orchid or something. It was the only cleanser that really worked for me, I've never found another one as good.

In addition to the products not being so good anymore, the upselling is relentless. I'm always polite to shop staff who have to do this, because I know they get bollocked if they don't try, but it takes ages to make a simple purchase when you're deflecting getting this thing at half price or that thing on special offer ...

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/10/2023 22:42

Lipstick (I think 06 Clover Pink) I wore it on my Wedding Day , never found it again
Beech Lip Liner
Passionfruit Cleansing Balm
Raspberry Ripple Bath Foam
Hair Salad conditioner
Green Shampoo (not the right name but smelled of fresh grass)
Honey&Oat Face Scrub
Mascara was nice and the tube was sealed (I never buy one that could've been opened) in navy

And more recent - Absinth Handwash , I used as a showergel (shakes fist in general direction for culling that one )

Mmmnotsure · 12/10/2023 23:04

Oh, the original banana conditioner. Used it for years - it was the Best Thing for combing the nits out of my children's very long hair.

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 12/10/2023 23:29

Ananya perfume and white musk moisturizer. And bath pearls!

SnoopyNoseTits · 05/09/2022 12:27

They used to have the best under eye concealer. It was in a pen like tube, with a brush on the end.

Yes like touch eclat?

Notoironing · 12/10/2023 23:34

Yes to the blue corn mask. Also the light conditioner. It was in a round tub and had a lemon smell

I haven't been inside a shop for 20yrs, but I used to LOVE it as an early teen. No idea what they sell now?

  • I loved the white musk back then
  • For a time loved a vanilla fragrance, but not sure I would now
  • They had a tiny roller, like an underarm deodorant as big as a little finger, but it had lavender and oils to roll into the temples to help you sleep. I only ran out of this recently but haven't found anything similar since.

@MarmiteCoriander Tisserand do a lot of rollerballs like this, including a lavender one. My middle child is a big fan and has a couple on the go at any one time.
