In a reflective/contemplative mood and would like some music to match...

Currently listening to The Night We Met by Lord Huron on repeat and it is suitably giving me the feels.

Appreciate that some songs will have individual emotional associations, but what are your favourite haunting songs that transcend that and give you shivers regardless?

Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush. Probably an obvious one but I love it and always find it haunting.

Wicked Game by Chris Isaak.

Under your thumb by Godley and Creme. Shivers every single time.

Cats in the cradle- the ugly kid Joe version.
Also Black by Pearl Jam, especially the last verse.

How daft is this? I've got goosebumps just reading this thread! I'm glad it's not Just me who's moved by music to the point of shivers and tears - I always worry I'm as daft as Screaming Cistine Chapel woman!

Who knows where the time goes - Fairport Covention. I defy anyone over the ago of about 40 not to get goosebumps.

Agree with mad world by Gary Jules - I loved the tears for fears song but the cover is really haunting. They played Ellie Goulding’s How Long will I love you at a Mother’s Day assemble DD was in years ago - it’s really not my kind of song but I’d never heard it before and literally had shivers going down my back.

I don't expect anyone will know it, but it's beautiful. Haunting and poignant.

How Long Will I Love you has me in pieces! An Irish guy songs it as well I think.
Also that song about his wife dying of cancer breaks my heart. If anyone can remember it please remind me.
