Okay, okay, so I was in Aldi.

If you were expecting £120 I think nearer £190 or over.

I keep meaning to check myself but some posters think Asda actually better priced than Aldi at moment, We do big on-line shop at Asda and it's been slightly higher than normal in previous months but Aldi price hikes did shop me last time I shopped there.

NellesVilla · 23/07/2022 12:14

Did the OP ever disclose the final bill? Cba to read through!

mcmooberry · 23/07/2022 12:14

Actually £82

custardcreams56 · 23/07/2022 12:14

£130 ish based on general prices I've seen lately. I don't eat meat though so just going by prices I've seen on the stickers.

I imagine it's likely more as meat has gone up. There's a lot of meat there and you could bring your costs down by cutting down on the meat.

Cold meats are for a week's worth of sandwiches for four adults to take to work.

See if you can get them to switch to sandwich pastes - much cheaper.

takeitandleaveit · 23/07/2022 12:16

Someone has got it even closer now. Kudos to @mcmooberry because I paid the grand sum of £81.32.

Eatthecake80 · 23/07/2022 12:16

Well my basket at aldi yesterday came to £57 with bugger all to show for it so I’ll say £167

Ducksurprise · 23/07/2022 12:17

I shop for my gran she has exactly the same things every week her one basket has gone up by £7.68 a week since January.

What used to be a £30-40 top up shop is now £70-80 shop for my family

Somethingneedstochange · 23/07/2022 12:17

So your saying it was less than £120? Hmm I got a trolley full in Aldi few months back. I expected it to be over £100 but it was just over £80. Lots of fresh food though nothing processed.

That's surprising - as I feel Aldi has got more expensive last few weeks.

Though still way cheaper than Sainsbury's and Tesco Met which are only other options in walking distance.

Somethingneedstochange · 23/07/2022 12:18

Just seen your update that's really reasonable for all that.

feetarefordancingwith · 23/07/2022 12:19

I'm guessings some posters pick their spuds from the ground Hmm

Mizzo · 23/07/2022 12:19

£82?

The cat food has thrown me, I've no idea how much it costs.

OooErr · 23/07/2022 12:19

wow how do people even guess
My shopping is very simple:
Meat
Veggies
Lunch food
'Other' (usually baking soda or similar)

Itswaytoohot · 23/07/2022 12:20

I was fairly close I said £92 in Aldi. I would have got it but I've no idea the price of pet food.

There's 4 of us including a teen and we do our food shop for less than £100 a week in Aldi. We even buy some convenience foods like microwave rice. But it's gone up from like £70 a week to more like £90.

Silenceisgreat · 23/07/2022 12:20

£130

Itswaytoohot · 23/07/2022 12:21

Some people have wildly overestimated. They must be very well off that's all I can think.

OooErr · 23/07/2022 12:21

I'd have to say £200 but i have no idea what half this stuff is
Halloumi fries?
Gruyere? Is that fancy cheese or not
????

Omg no way! I was thinking much higher. My food shop is normally around this price and I feel I get a lot less 🙈
