£175 assuming Tesco/Sainsburys

User639921 · 23/07/2022 12:07

What's wrong with brands and convenience foods, we don't all like cooking.

£120 - £250 depending on quality

Hadjab · 23/07/2022 12:08

£113

Silverfinch · 23/07/2022 12:08

A lot of convenience food and expensive brands - you can't be that surprised, you're hardly cutting corners

NuffSaidSam · 23/07/2022 12:09

Ladywiddio · 23/07/2022 12:00

Can’t be arsed to even read the list.

Tuppence?

But yet you can be bothered to reply! It's a funny old world isn't it?

What’s the point of threads like this? I’ve just read through your posts only (and wasted my time) It depends on the supermarket and whether you got any yellow stickers.

Where was it from and were you buying basics, mid-range or top end ‘finest’ type stuff as that could make a big difference. If in Aldi/Lidl and with offers maybe £120 odd but if in Waitrose/ M&S higher range products could be more like £250.

Okay, okay, so I was in Aldi.

I'm a regular shopper in there, and I was expecting it to come to around that, so I was very surprised when it didn't.

how irritating to not say where you bought it. If I'd bought that lot in the Company Shop which is a surplus store it would have been about £40, if I'd been to Waitrose it would have been £200.

FAQs · 23/07/2022 12:11

£20 and you’re a coupon queen.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 23/07/2022 12:11

Whatever it may have cost, I’d guess that you weren’t too bothered, given some of the items on that list.

WildImaginings · 23/07/2022 12:11

£130 ish based on general prices I've seen lately. I don't eat meat though so just going by prices I've seen on the stickers.

I imagine it's likely more as meat has gone up. There's a lot of meat there and you could bring your costs down by cutting down on the meat.

TabithaTittlemouse · 23/07/2022 12:11

Has anyone called you tone deaf yet for buying tissue cubes? People are starving and you are buying tissues!

elizabethdraper · 23/07/2022 12:11

I counted 19 processed /convenience foods as well

Paddingtonsmarmlade · 23/07/2022 12:11

£140 if it's mainly own brand items

I know right....who has the time?!

Who has the time to read the whole OP just to make a snarky comment…

yogafairy · 23/07/2022 12:12

@Fafafafabetter I went to home bargains this morning to get cleaning supplies and it came to £32! I was expecting around £20!

takeitandleaveit · 23/07/2022 12:12

OMG. Just going through your guesses and one of you has got it spot on. Shock

Well if you keep it going all day somebody would eventually

Somethingneedstochange · 23/07/2022 12:13

I would say £160 maybe a bit more. The cost of kitchen roll in supermarkets has gone up a lot though. I would usually buy that in home bargain's or b and m. As well as the branded and tinned food. I even go online to m to make sure it is a cheaper price.

Sometimes I can't get out because of DD's health needs. Especially with the heat we have had. So I put the same list of items into three supermarket apps and order the one which is the fairest price.

Xtraincome · 23/07/2022 12:13
