And replying to it!!!! 🙄

Reading and replying to it is only a few seconds of my life wasted. But how long did it take the OP to type that list?

Daisymaybe60 · 24/07/2022 23:34

Maybe she does her shopping lists in Notes on her phone as I do, then it’d have been a few seconds to copy and paste?

Watzzap · 24/07/2022 23:35

Talking about Angel Cake slices, I was in Asda and noticed this pricing mistake (at least I hope it’s a mistake)! All the other 8 pack slices were priced the same.

£168

bytheseaby123 · 25/07/2022 00:37

£88 and she shops at Aldi

Justkeepsmilingx · 25/07/2022 00:38

£136 ? Only read first page so far so not sure if you’ve added the answer !

Ineke · 25/07/2022 07:42

Just an aside, I buy microwave rice, it is 50p a sachet at the moment in M&S. packet rice would previously have worked out cheaper but not at the moment with energy prices.

nannykatherine · 25/07/2022 08:36

You could save so much money by making your own pies etc and not buying microwave rice bags and pre made stuff
just saying

I know they are.

Hands up all those who have ever made their own baked beans.

Once, and it cost a bloody fortune. Jamie Oliver can keep his home made baked beans.

SillyOldBucket · 25/07/2022 15:16

I'm guessing about £75 if it was purchased in Aldi

Sartre · 25/07/2022 16:23

Aldi’s great. When I was totting this up I was thinking Waitrose or similar so I suspected closer to £150 but then I read it was aldi and I thought yeah, probably under £100. I love aldi. Every time I go in Morrisons I spend at least £15, it seems impossible to spend less whereas I know I’d get the same stuff in aldi for half the price.

Would it be ok if it was Lloyd Grossman?

I won a jar of his pasta sauce on a tombola stall once. Five tickets for £1 and that's what I get. I was robbed, I tell you, robbed.

I bet it was out of date as well. Or dented.

Not yet... Grin

Not yet...but you can write the entire, horrid list?
£1, 000, 000.

Tiani4 · 26/07/2022 07:16

@takeitandleaveit
OMG. Just going through your guesses and one of you has got it spot on.

That was @mcmooberry at £82! Not far off £81.89!

Do I get second prize at between £75-84 ? Grin

Tiani4 · 26/07/2022 07:17

Bold fail!! I'll try again

OP - That was @mcmooberry their guesss was £82! Not far off £81.89!

Do I get second prize for guessing "between £75-84"?

takeitandleaveit · 26/07/2022 09:11

@Tiani4 Was it you who guessed first? If so, it was you I was talking about! The thread took on a life of its own a bit, didn't it? If it appears in trending again for the 4th day running I'll eat my croissants hat.

Me but I do the Kenyan version which is in a coconutty tomato sauce.

smilingontheinside · 26/07/2022 11:28

Well my aldi shopping usually consists of blueberries (wonky ones I'm not fussy), branflakes, bagged salad (cuz I'm on my own and it's easier), microwave rice/quinoa/lentils etc(same reason as salad), long life skimmed milk, biscoff ice creams (omg they are fab) & several litre cartons of sangria (just in case I decide to have a party 😁), salmon fillets and chicken to go with rice/salad etc. I occasionally buy ginger nuts if feeling particularly frivolous. I've eaten well and badly throughout my life still here mid 60's at the best weight and fittest I've been in years (I put that down to the sangria😜). Some quick foods are time saving, energy saving and food waste saving so have their good points. Wonder how much time is spent in the kitchen by those who do everything from scratch??? I'd rather be sat with my feet up with a coffee and a ginger nut😁

You can't drop that without a link to a recipe :)

Seconded. That actually sounds as if it's worth making a bit of effort for!

NanaNelly · 27/07/2022 18:44

Give me until tomorrow pls and I’ll type the recipe up.

SpindleInTheWind · 27/07/2022 19:03

Thanks, @NanaNelly
