It just shows that the majority of people don’t care about it any more

Bullshit. It's currently fucking over practically every aspect of the economy. Northern Ireland? The ECHR?

That particular self-inflicted wound will go on harming this country for decades. Millions of people care about it deeply. It will effect everything, and not in a positive way.

The morons who 'delivered Brexit' are pretending that it's all going spiffingly, and frankly one would have to be just as dim to believe them.

It doesn't seem to have had much impact on the betting odds. Still a 3 horse donkey race

I’ve never voted Tory and I dislike all of their policy’s but for me Tom came across as the most sensible and in touch with normal people. I liked his straight answers.

Kemi will go far but I don’t think she’s ready for the top job.

Penny- she’s Johnson in a dress, a liar and arrogant.

Rushi-always think he’s taking to his audience as if we’re 5 years old.

Liz- well she was as dreadful as I expected. She’s not improved since the cheeeeeeese incident has she.

NightJohnBoy · 15/07/2022 22:33

cheeeeeeese incident?

theworldhas · 15/07/2022 22:34

Funny how Tories were merciless in mocking Diane Abbot and yet somehow think Liz Truss is a suitable person to lead the whole fucking country. Meanwhile if Johnson was a pound shop Churchill, Penny Morduant is a pound shop Theresa May.

NightJohnBoy · 15/07/2022 22:34

Was it inappropriate use of cheese, by any chance?
Was she actually trying to Google tractors?

stratforduponavon · 15/07/2022 22:37

It’s the military side of Tom. I remember when the Army turned up at one of Boris’s briefings when the vaccines were rolled out.

I breathed a sigh of relief. I also had a boyfriend many years ago and boy could that man iron a shirt and make me feel safe (and I honestly I don’t need anyone for that!).

I know. Most people don’t care though. It doesn’t feature when they’re asked about their concerns, ergo no questions about it.

100% agree with you ok everything you said here!

theworldhas · 15/07/2022 22:40

That's a shit result - 12% - for Mordaunt. The MPs will need to pay heed to that, as the penny drops (no pun intended) that she's going to deliver unelectability to the Tories.

With Morduant it seems the packaging is great - attractive enough, serious looking, nice middle class accent, not part of the Boris regime - but there’s very little substance or original thought. She’s a wonderful blank slate for people to fantasise about a time when Britain was a world power - or at least when the average Brit was as wealthy as the average German/Frenchman. But that’s it, it’s just an image.

Narwhalelife · 15/07/2022 22:41

I am curious why, even though they have been in the government all this time, it’s only now that real change can happen 🙄

Zilla1 · 15/07/2022 22:44

Has there been a credible explanation why Wallace withdrew when he was the front runner? I know he said he wanted to concentrate on being a defence minister so that might need to be discounted.

ilovesooty · 15/07/2022 22:45

I'd like to ban the word deliver from future debates.

Cheeeeese incident?

Google Liz Truss and cheese. A video will pop up of her taking about it. She sounds deranged.

saraclara · 15/07/2022 22:51

You were in the army, we get it. But you are not any more and we need to move on to the job you want to be doing, not the job you did.

Yep. I was impressed with him during the Afghan thing, but I've barely heard him speak without referencing his army career. It's SO predictable and irritating now.

I'm loathe to admit it but Kemi is coming over well

why loathe?

AlecTrevelyan006 · 15/07/2022 23:04

I appreciate we shouldn’t really comment on looks but Truss desperately needs a makeover. I mean she’s three younger than Penny Mourdant but looks like her older deranged auntie that no ever talks about anymore

stillherenow · 15/07/2022 23:10

Well on the plus side I think that Labour will walk the next election

I used to be a political correspondent (local radio only, you won't have heard of me 😀) but how I wish I'd been presenting that debate. Rishi should have been told to wind his neck in. he was allowed to speak but every time it was someone else's turn he kept interrupting them and turning it back to what he'd done and why anyone else was wrong.

And a lot of PPs are putting Kemi at the top of their lists. Why wasn't she pulled up when she said that it wasn't a choice between lowering taxes and cutting public services, or maintaining the tax levels to improve the services. She said we could have both, lower taxes AND better public services. Why didn't Krishnan jump in and ask her 'how?'. Otherwise it's just hot air.

She did explain. She said by having growth

He said after talking it through with them it wasn't the right time for his family and children

Thanks for this. I couldn't summon the effort to reply to that poster

Being in Bozo's cabinet obviously is extremely ageing. I am SHOCKED she is supposedly only 46 Shock

PM does look good if that helps.

I can’t imagine Tom and Starmer up in PMQ - a stale male cheese quagmire
