This will be his lat PMQs today.

I am sure it will be interesting.

Notonthestairs · 20/07/2022 08:31

I don't know whether Johnson will grace Parliament with his presence.
He's probably got a tank/plane to mess about in or a party to plan.

'Exactly. At the time KS was making a point in a reasonable way and she was just bellowing. So bloody rude in ANY circumstances. I find her horrible, I know that's maybe not the thing to say, can't help it.'

I know! but at least Ange has stopped bellowing 'scum' so someone has obviously told her to stfu. She tends to sit and sneer like a bored teenager nowadays.

Still unable to comment on Johnson's actions with regard to Pincher?

SueSaid · 20/07/2022 08:46

"I wonder if someone could ask Dorries if it is appropriate to yell "Boring" at someone in a workplace when they are making a speech?'

They all yell stuff. It isn't for pearl clutchers. Mind I do think Hoyle should rein it in instead of constantly blustering on about wanting to hear the answers even if they don't.

DuncinToffee · 20/07/2022 08:54

Inflation hits 40-year high of 9.4% as cost of living crisis mounts - and it’s set to hit 11% by end of the year.

Got all the big things right

DuncinToffee · 20/07/2022 09:10

Those pearls get firmly clutched when you call someone a liar for lying

ClaudineClare · 20/07/2022 09:12

"Ange" has never "bellowed" "scum" in the House.

Even Johnson looked askance at Dorries. She clearly has a drinking problem. I hope she gets the help she needs.

To be fair if I had to work with and defend Boris day in day out, I think I would have a drinking problem too.

Nice try! She sits quietly and listens. Whereas Nadine Dorries is slumped, probably inebriated, clothing dishevelled and bellows. And the recent incident is not the first one.
I cannot believe you are sticking up for Dorries's behaviour, when even your Dear Leader looked very embarrassed

ClaudineClare · 20/07/2022 09:27

True, jgw1,true.

In other news, inspired by the last couple of days, Sunak clearly on the ball when it comes to tackling climate change...

Wind energy will be an important part of our strategy, but I want to reassure communities that as prime minister I would scrap plans to relax the ban on onshore wind in England, instead focusing on building more turbines offshore.

Fair point, we don't want ugly turbines blighting the Tory shires. It is far better they burn 🔥 during excessive heatwaves.

That made me laugh out loud!

There are clips out there of her even worse in the HoC. But being the nice person I am, I won't link them, they are very embarrassing. What's the point... hopefully, the new PM will send her on her way.

I agree that Angela Raynor should not have called Conservative MPs scum last year . she did apologize for this and it was accepted , but it certainly wasn't her finest hour
Nadine Dorries's behavior on Monday was also bad and I hope she is able to say sorry for disrupting the proceedings. It is turning the HoP into a rabble and this isn't a good look for anyone ; they all need to start thinking a bit more about how it comes across and be pulled up on name calling and shouting.
These are meant to be intelligent people with responsible jobs and should be held to account
a lot more and told to tone it down.

SueSaid · 20/07/2022 09:45

'Whereas Nadine Dorries is slumped, probably inebriated, clothing dishevelled and bellows. And the recent incident is not the first one.I cannot believe you are sticking up for Dorries's behaviour'

I find the constant mocking of her on here really inappropriate and typically hypocritical. As I've said repeatedly I only have to comment mildly on Angie's bellows and it's handbags at dawn. I'd never for example make unpleasant comments gossiping that she has a drink problem. Just awful.

Not sticking up for Dorries' apparently outrageous 'boring' comments rather pointing out they all do it. But as always when it's coming from Keith's side it is of course admirable and well deserved when it's Bozo's side it is discusting!

Whatabout the Alba party protest in the Commons which caused Lyndsey Hoyle to lose his rag. The SNP are saints on here

Roussette · 20/07/2022 09:49

I agree. It was a mistake. Think it if you want, don't say it.

Hoyle just seems a bit useless. He doesn't pull them up properly. They shout over him, he's ineffectual.

I cannot begin to imagine what other countries think of these awful displays of behaviour.

Apparently the HoC needs about 10 billion spent on it. Build a new one outside of London, horseshoe shaped like other Parliaments with all the facilities needed for voting, put them to work properly and I include all MPs in that.

To me the HoC is a pop to the bar for a swift one, rush over to vote, back to the bar, back to the benches, shout, heckle. It's too social with that subsidised bar and dining room... fine wines cheap as chips, gin and tonic peanuts... it's just like some sort of social club, not work. There are 8 bars for members there! With Peers having several bars of their own. It's pathetic.

MPs are expected to be sober when discharging their duties. That's a laugh.

Thank you for allowing me to rant.

Dorries get mocked for spouting nonsense, not knowing her facts as Culture Secretary. But you are right, Johnson gets admired for doing the same.

The use of the word 'scum' pales with what has come out of Johnson's mouth but he gets away with it.

Roussette · 20/07/2022 09:52

Go and look for the footage then, it was not an isolated incident. Make your own mind up. Just for once admit she was out of order FFS. I think Rayner was for her scum comment. Can't you say the same about a Tory?

'the Alba party protest in the Commons which caused Lyndsey Hoyle to lose his rag. The SNP are saints on here'

Hoyle really seems out of his depth. Trying to get that incidence under control was embarrassing to witness, he blustered and faffed on and his voice went squeaky. Someone more formidable would be far more effective.

I miss Betty Boothroyd. They didn't dare misbehave with her as Speaker

Oh calm down Roussette with your 'FFS'.

No, I don't think her boring comment was out of order. They either can all sling insults and mock each other or they can't. Keith's attempt to put Bozo down wasn't very professional was it? They mock and sneer. I don't think it's great but I'm not going to applaud one side who does it and be all cat's bum faced when another do. I like to be consistent with my outrage.

Blossomtoes · 20/07/2022 09:58

Wind energy will be an important part of our strategy

The current PM provides a valuable resource at last - stick him in the North Sea and provoke him every now and then.

I don't need calming down lol

OK. I understand. You think her behaviour was perfectly acceptable. Got you. There is a big difference in your two examples.

He did indeed Just like Johnson in PMQ.

It is not gossip janiee. The woman is clearly not well and needs help. Ignoring it helps nobody.
