Here is the old thread... let's keep on top of what's going on!

-Janiie now just types very nasty things in an attempt at humour and just does it for attention. Quite sad really.'

Nasty things? Like what! Have you seen the crap thrown at 'Nads' 'Little Matty Hancock', Patel and Truss on these threads?! We had someone suggest 'Nads' wanted BJ to undo his flies once. Lolz!

I have a different opinion to most of you that is all. If you want an echo chamber try the brexit board plenty of excitable backslaps going on there usually.

DuncinToffee · 19/07/2022 20:00

This is just horrific

the UK’s High Commissioner to Rwanda warned the govt against choosing the country given it “has been accused of recruiting refugees to conduct armed operations in neighbouring countries.”

No problem with having a different opinion, just that you won't back it up.

So why is Elwood a weasel?

A drip I thought it was. You won't get an answer to that. It's because he stood up to her favourite PM I imagine

I named Hancock...Little Matty Hancock. Which really isn't that bad. He's soooo earnest he really fits the name.

Keith instead of Keir is supposedly meant to be an insult

Something I have wondered. Why do people call Keir Keith? All the gammon on Twatter do it, as if they are being highly original and amusing. I don't get what the joke is.

Same reason BJ gets Bozo and Dorries gets Nads. Nothing wrong with the name Keith anyway tbh. Not quite as pretentious sounding as Keir. Suits him better.

Gammon. Now that is an insult.

Blossomtoes · 19/07/2022 20:22

Same reason BJ gets Bozo and Dorries gets Nads

Only by you. Most people who post regularly to this thread are quite scrupulous to give politicians their correct names. This is too important to trivialise with silly nicknames.

Saucery · 19/07/2022 20:23

Keith for Keir is meant to bring him down a peg or two. Him, with his posh name and meaningful pre-politics career. Not to mention him buying his Mum a donkey sanctuary. Who the hell does he think he is, eh? He should be a Keith. They’ll make him be a Keith, godammit!

It's not a posh name. Keir Starmer was named after Keir Hardie one of the founders of the Labour party

gammon is an insult but woke lefty isn't?

This. People are writing about Dorries behaviour at HoC and linking to it. Evidenced.

Very different to calling someone who tried to save a terrorist attack victims life a weasel for having the whip removed because they are working abroad for the safety of their country.

I'd be saying exactly the same thing if this was ordinary people in an ordinary workplace having such different treatment.

SueSaid · 19/07/2022 18:35

'are you saying that a teacher who has an allegation against them should remain teaching until such a time, often years later the investigation is concluded?'

You need to look at the context of the posts really. The pp said it was days before Pincher had the whip removed I replied yes correct process including asking a few questions is surely appropriate. Are you going to bizarrely go off on a tangent bout teachers like you have burglars for the last 6 months?

Explain to me why a different process should apply to a teacher, doctor or nurse who is accused of an allegation than a senior MP?

DuncinToffee · 19/07/2022 20:44

I agree, even the use of first names makes it sound as if they are your friends. They are not.

itsgettingweird · 19/07/2022 20:44

I call them Johnson and Dorries. 🤷‍♀️

I would love to have a debate with you in order to better understand the views that you have.

Could you perhaps start by explaining why you think it is acceptable for a 56 year old man to have a birthday party whilst the same man denies that opportunity to millions of children?

DuncinToffee · 19/07/2022 20:39

I have to say I assumed being called woke was a compliment.

I have come to that conclusion as well but not sure if it is meant like that by Janiie. Maybe she can clarify?

Cornettoninja · 19/07/2022 20:53

itsgettingweird · 19/07/2022 19:23

Bloody hell.

That's the worst bumbling I've ever seen from Johnson - he didn't string 1 sentence together in the first 3 minutes.

I believe Reddit have a board for clips like this:

I hope this is all evidence being put before the ECHU. It’s stunning in its absolute wickedness.

balalake · 19/07/2022 20:59

I refer to the Prime Minister as either Mr Johnson or the Prime Minister. Unlike Mr Johnson, I have respect for the office of Prime Minister. I won't refer to him just as Boris, I have never met him and he would never be a friend either. I even refer to the two Prime Ministers I have met (not UK ones) by their name and surname, and same with the non-UK former one I am distantly related to.

I take it as a compliment, but often it isn't depending on who is saying it

Doesn't it just mean being kind and considerate to people, how is that not a compliment?

ClaudineClare · 19/07/2022 21:09

Gammon. Now that is an insult

It is meant to be. The people/bots on Twitter that I am referring to are horrible, malicious bigots.

I understand that is quite fashionable at the moment.

Why is it "pretentious"?
