October is coming soon

Have Labour proposed more than £600 yet?

Are Labour in power?

I didn't know that.

It's more important that Labour changes its proposal than the actual Government? ConfusedGrin

And when you hear them this evening say what they have done and that covers the price rises, it's not going to cover the October one.

Different people. Same lies

Thank god for whataboutery or where would we be?

Are you OK with his visit to a former KGB Agent's palazzo

The palazzo is owned by the son - a British citizen.

Personally, I'd like to know why Keir Starmer didn't question Seumas Milne's appointment as Executive Director of Strategy & Communications for the Labour Party (October 2015 - April 2020);

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3298550/Red-handed-Photograph-shows-Jeremy-Corbyn-s-pro-Kremlin-spin-chief-held-Putin-s-iron-grip-propaganda-summit.html

Lol whataboutery at it's finest there Clav. Hilarious!

I thought we were talking about Lebedev. And of course I know about the palazzo that Daddy, the ex KGB agent bought for his son. He was there along with son when Boris visited.

Here you go

"The prime minister, who was foreign secretary at the time, met Russian billionaire businessman Alexander Lebedev, whose family owns Britain’s Independent and Evening Standard newspapers, following a summit of foreign ministers in Brussels staged in the wake of the poisoning of ex-Russian agent Sergei Skripal.
The two met in Italy in April 2018, a month after the attack using the novichok nerve agent in Salisbury, when Johnson, in what appears to be a highly unusual break with protocol, apparently left behind his personal security detail and flew to a lavish party at a palazzo near Perugia hosted by Lebedev’s son Evgeny."

Leadership candidate Liz Truss has nothing to do with deals the EU makes with other countries. Best deals ever, wasn’t that what we were promised?

Could be if we join the CPTPP - I think they are still aiming for the end of 2022 - the trade deals with Australia and New Zealand are stepping stones.

borntobequiet · 17/07/2022 17:10

Top whataboutery, deflection and minimisation as always 👍

Nice going along a different path.

Have people been watching The Undeclared War on Channel 4?
It's about Russian interference in a future UK election after Boris Johnson gets removed in a cabinet coup. Very interesting. Especially with Russian bots on Twitter and other social media platforms.

I've watched episode 1 after it was suggested.

I have a few episodes downloaded to my iPad and will watch when I can.

But I'm back at work tomorrow after my OP and then off to Sheffield for 6 days as far is competing at British champs!

Blossomtoes · 17/07/2022 17:13

What I am interested to learn, is whether comrade Clav will continue to defend the Nasty party when Boris is no longer PM.

Of course she will. She was at it when May was still PM. She’ll still be copying and pasting Tory propaganda in 20 years.

itsgettingweird · 17/07/2022 17:16

Labour tweeted this in May;
Labour would introduce a windfall tax on oil and gas profits to support households with up to £600 off your energy bills.

Labour were only proposing up to £600 for the poorest households?

And the Torys have given £400 off energy bills.

The rest is cost of living payments.

Which aren't coming until after sept for those who are disabled or on tax credits. Currently it's only those on UC who have received a cost of living payment.

I know you like to play semantics (a proper Tory Grin) but you can't put the 2 different things as the same.

Plus the Tory's voted against this the week before Johnson was forced to do it to distract from another scandal he'd created!

And the UK secret services couldn't be bothered to look into it? How strange.

No.

It was covered up.

Are you denying he attended the palazzo without his security detail? Because even the right wing press are running with that.

Johnson runs the country.

What anyone else does doesn't affect me.

What he does affects me and everyone else.

Come on Clav - branch out - answer a direct question - you never know - you may find you like it.

And the Tories have given £400 off energy bills

That's £400 for every household - plus £150 Council Tax rebate for lower bands.

Labour were only proposing an average of £200 per household towards energy bills.

Since when has Labour been in power?

If they were, I would be holding them to account too.

However, they are not.

Yes - £400 plus a £150 rebate for some.

Energy bills (on average) going from about £1400 in October 21 to £3300 in October 22

So when the candidates say tonight that they are supporting people through October, they are lying.

No.
It was covered up.

So, MI6 (or whoever) looked into the trip and covered up their findings?

Are you denying he attended the palazzo without his security detail?

No idea - one of Carole's links says this;

Neither the Foreign Office or the police were prepared to say whether Johnson had gone against protocol and travelled to Italy without security

Clavinova · 17/07/2022 17:45

plus a £150 rebate for some

Around 20 million households in council tax bands A to D

Clavinova · 17/07/2022 17:46

All true

But when they say they are covering October's price increase, they are lying.

Because £1900 is not £1200.

ClaudineClare · 17/07/2022 17:49

Flipping heck, I was just coming on here to complain how hot it is for October and that it must be Corbyn's fault, but thanks to Clav I now know what month it isn't.

itsgettingweird · 17/07/2022 17:54

Labour aren't in power.

Labour suggested the windfall tax.

Tory's had to back down and do it to save themselves. Then Johnson thought vaccines and cost of living payment was the only thing to talk about and his lies didn't matter.

Don't think for one minute it was all an altruistic decision.

Clavs social life has certainly for busier since the FPNs and resignations! And since the response she gets is "Labour aren't in power" and Kiers beer no longer can be used.

Some people may find it a co incidence 🫣
