Clav Are you seriously concerned whether Lebedev's pet is named after Boris Johnson or Boris Yeltsin?

Is that all you're worried about.... that's IT?!!

Personally I'm more concerned with BJ, armed with official papers, giving his security detail the slip to party away with the two Lebedevs just after a Novichok poisoning on british soil. Then lying about declaring it to the Standards Commission.

But there you go... maybe I should pay more attention to the hound Hmm
You're sounding very desperate.

Many many articles have corrections. Sometimes they need to hurry to get to press and Cadwalladr's correction is a minor one. I've seen far worse than that.

She is a brilliant well respected journalist who held Arron Banks to account.
And won.

Nadine Dorries is a ridiculous love starved of Boris woman who has been over promoted and is incapable of doing her job properly.

OP posts:
DuncinToffee · 17/07/2022 15:37

At least she made the corrections unlike Johnson and his employment claims in parliament.

Clavinova · 17/07/2022 15:38

DuncinToffee
Liz Truss who was warned the Aus and NZ trade deals would shrink the country's farming and food sectors

Shrink - by what percentage? Disappointing that the EU want to pursue free trade deals with Australia and New Zealand in the future and shrink Ireland's farming and food sectors.

DuncinToffee · 17/07/2022 15:52

Ooooh I missed these whatabouteries Smile

Leadership candidate Liz Truss has nothing to do with deals the EU makes with other countries. Best deals ever, wasn’t that what we were promised?

Notonthestairs · 17/07/2022 16:15

No Parliamentary oversight of Uk-Aus deal. No opportunity to discuss the benefits and the flaws.
I thought we were all about the sovereignty these days?

cakeorwine · 17/07/2022 16:16

I don't think the Tories understand the cost of living crisis.

In October 2021, the price cap was about £1400.
In April 2022, it went to around £2000
In Ocober 2022, it's predicted to be around £3300

So £1900 more than a year before.

Government support for the poorest households - about 8 million who get Universal Credit (which is a LOT of households) is £1200.

So that leaves people poorer just on energy bills.

I think it's shameful to live in a country where 1/3 of households need universal credit to survive. It's good that support is available but shameful that support is needed.

This doesn't even touch the inflation increases in food and fuel.

itsgettingweird · 17/07/2022 16:17

BoreOfWhabylon · 17/07/2022 14:31

I heard her say mastectomy - not vasectomy.

That's what I heard too, except she mispronounced it as massectomy, which probably led to the confusion.

Possibly. She was trying to lie about her true stance so it's no wonder she faltered!!!

I don't want another liar as PM so she has to go for me anyway!

Confusion? Why would she have a vasectomy??

Well quite. Which was why I was surprised when I thought that's what she'd said 🤣

tobee · 17/07/2022 16:20

Carole Cadwalladr is such a great journalist.

itsgettingweird · 17/07/2022 16:21

We watched with the subtitles on. We both heard her say vasectomy. Then the subtitles said vasectomy.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who heard that! And it seems that's what she said then?!

Clav Are you seriously concerned whether Lebedev's pet is named after Boris Johnson or Boris Yeltsin?

It's an indication of her flimsy/non existent evidence to back up some of her claims.

Personally I'm more concerned with BJ, armed with official papers

Official papers according to whom? Cadwalladr has linked to a hazy photograph of Boris Johnson holding something on the Twitter feed of someone I've not heard of before.

She is a brilliant well respected journalist who held Arron Banks to account.
And won.

She's had to make several apologies along the way, e.g;

“On 22 Oct 2020, I tweeted that Arron had been found to have broken the law. I accept he has not. I regret making this false statement, which I have deleted. I undertake not to repeat it."
“I apologise to Arron for the upset and distress caused.”

DuncinToffee · 17/07/2022 16:24

Clavinova, do you think it is ok for the Foreign Secretary to meet with a ex-KGB lieutenant-colonel without his security detail or Foreign Office officials, at the height of the Skripal poisoning crisis?

Yes or No?

Roussette · 17/07/2022 16:28

Official papers according to whom? Cadwalladr has linked to a hazy photograph of Boris Johnson holding something on the Twitter feed of someone I've not heard of before

Ahh.... so it's OK that he goes as long as he doesn't have official papers with him, is that what you mean?
What about what he might say?

Are you OK with his visit to a former KGB Agent's palazzo just after Russia has launched a novichock attack in our country?

She's had to make several apologies along the way

Not anywhere near the stratosphere of Johnson's apologies! He has humbly apologised countless times hasn't he....

It's an indication of her flimsy/non existent evidence to back up some of her claims

Personally I don't care about what he calls his dog.

What about the visit? Can you answer how you feel about that? Priti Patel got sacked for going off piste with Israel.

Nice going along a different path.

Have people been watching The Undeclared War on Channel 4?
It's about Russian interference in a future UK election after Boris Johnson gets removed in a cabinet coup. Very interesting. Especially with Russian bots on Twitter and other social media platforms.

Labour tweeted this in May;
Labour would introduce a windfall tax on oil and gas profits to support households with up to £600 off your energy bills.

Labour were only proposing up to £600 for the poorest households?

October is coming soon.

It's just 3 months away.

The Tory candidates have said they will remove the environmental and social levy - which helps fund the household support fund for vulnerable pensioners.

They don't get the cost of living crisis. They are the ones in charge.

It's shameful

tobee · 17/07/2022 16:38

Are you OK with his visit to a former KGB Agent's palazzo

The palazzo is owned by the son - a British citizen.

Personally, I'd like to know why Keir Starmer didn't question Seumas Milne's appointment as Executive Director of Strategy & Communications for the Labour Party (October 2015 - April 2020);
