Roussette
No.
It was covered up.

So, MI6 (or whoever) looked into the trip and covered up their findings?

Are you denying he attended the palazzo without his security detail?

No idea - one of Carole's links says this;

Neither the Foreign Office or the police were prepared to say whether Johnson had gone against protocol and travelled to Italy without security

Oh purleeeease!

Johnson himsel has admitted to this! When asked by the Liaison Committee
"did you meet Alexander Lebedev in 2018 without government officials when he was Foreign Secretary, he said he did.

Why in god's ame are you trying to pretend he didn't? You're being ridiculous. It is out of his mouth FFS!

So, MI6 (or whoever) looked into the trip and covered up their findings?

You tell me. We don't know half of it do we? There's been enough cover ups, lying, subterfuge and manipulation of the facts by this Government, I have no idea.

It is quite ironic when for once Johnson admits the truth at 1922 There are still people trying to defend it saying we don't know.

Roussette · 17/07/2022 18:56

So there is NO doubt. Here it is. Coming out of his mouth. His words.

Committee...."Did you meet with officials, or without officials?"

Johnson........"Yes, without officials"

How much more definite can that be?

It's pathetic if anyone comes on here trying to pretend it hasn't happened. And it just shows you up big time.

The leaders debate is on tonight ITV

TokyoSushi · 17/07/2022 19:02

Leaders debate seems rather like a game show, and Rishi has the most game show like introduction! Liz Truss just seems uptight and frankly weird. Let's see!

the80sweregreat · 17/07/2022 19:04

L T looks ill I think.

cakeorwine · 17/07/2022 19:04

It does feel like a game show - but we can't vote on it.

I want to challenge all of them on things they just don't get

Roussette · 17/07/2022 19:04

It's just started. DD is home (unusual) and she refuses to watch it as she says it's not good for her BP because it annoys her soooo much that they show this when we have no vote, no control... and it's decided by 200,000 members who are not representative of the public

63% of Conservative Party members are male, and 37% female
6% are under 24-years-old, 36% are aged 25 to 49-years-old, 19% are aged between 50 and 64-years-old, and 39% are over 65
24% backed Remain in the EU referendum, and 76% backed Leave
56% live in London and the south-east of England, 18% in the Midlands and Wales, 20% in the north of England and 6% in Scotland
80% belong to the highest social economic groups known as ABC1

Looking forward to some infighting now

the80sweregreat · 17/07/2022 19:06

Liz going for Rishi straight out the traps.

cakeorwine · 17/07/2022 19:07

This is like the boardroom in The Apprentice

the80sweregreat · 17/07/2022 19:08

Lord Sugar would have kept them in their place at least.

TokyoSushi · 17/07/2022 19:09

Tom Tugendhat doesn't seem to realise that the point of the job isn't that the conservatives can win in 2024. The point is that you're supposed to be making things work better for the people of the UK. How are you going to do THAT? Not how are you going to bloody win in 2024 🙄

cakeorwine · 17/07/2022 19:11

Liz is wearing red. That's not very Conservative

SpindleInTheWind · 17/07/2022 19:13

I suppose they're trying to appeal to an eclectic audience.

Did Clavs have to run off to take her place at Podium #2?

the80sweregreat · 17/07/2022 19:13

I think that none of them really know what to do about the cost of living crisis. They admit it's going to be bad.
Liz is trying to distance herself from 12 years of Conservative rule. It's incredible but not surprising.
At least RS is talking about education.

TokyoSushi · 17/07/2022 19:14

They're grinding me down! I'm close to saying 'fuck it, let's just have Rishi then' and hope for a GE at the earliest possible opportunity.

cakeorwine · 17/07/2022 19:15

If this is the best the Conservatives have...then bring on the election

derxa · 17/07/2022 19:15

Bring back Boris!

If they don't make things better in the next 2 years they won't stand a chance in 2024. The teo go hand in hand.

Even if we all live in a land of milk and honey then, they will still be hard pushed to win.

Roussette · 17/07/2022 19:18

derxa · 17/07/2022 19:15

Bring back Boris!

That's not even funny.
He will go down as the worst PM in history.

Besides which he's got a party weekend at Chequers, masquerading as a farewell party but is sure to be a wedding party.

Oh God, 80s, what did he say??

the80sweregreat · 17/07/2022 19:19

The conservatives are good at winning elections so don't rule them out
Tom has mentioned the army. He can't help himself
At least Kemi wants to work with the unions. Something positive there at least

Personally, I don't think it's healthy to have one party in power for this long.

Change is needed.

But not in the Cabinet, by the looks of things
