For me it’s Ben Wallace or Liz Truss. No idea how good either would be but for some reason I am drawn to them.

who do you all think it should be?

Of the declared / likely candidates, Jeremy Hunt.

Ben Wallace

Jeremy Hunt or Sajid Javid.
Don't mind Tom Tugendhat. Could tolerate Truss or Wallace.
Would like to see Kemi Badenoch in a bigger role.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 08/07/2022 19:56

Ben Wallace. Defence secretary, former highly experienced soldier.

IMO he’d command a lot of respect internationally, and is not tainted by being one of Johnson’s closest cronies.

Rogue1001MNer · 08/07/2022 19:58

A labour politician!

A socialist, environmentalist and gender-critical woman.

Ah, if only.

Hawkins001 · 08/07/2022 20:00

AchillesLastStand · 08/07/2022 20:07

Keir Starmer

EmilyBolton · 08/07/2022 20:08

Anyone not in any of Boris’ cabinet positions.
They have all condoned him and only condemned him when they decided to jump ship to save their skins. None of them are fit to govern and they are all tarred with the same stench of lies, corruption, drinking culture, self entitlement and sexual misdemeanours.

if the conservative want to regain public trust they should realise they need to get an entirely new cast of people who haven’t been stained by this.

Bundlesofchocforme · 08/07/2022 20:11

Tobias Elwood

FungalNail · 08/07/2022 20:11

NOT penny, I’m not sure woman’s rights would be safe under her

NOT Rishi, I wouldn’t vote for a billionaire boy with no real life experience

FungalNail · 08/07/2022 20:13

NOT Jeremy hunt, his ideas around abortion would move womens rights back into the 70s.
